@ Gamer666,
How hard is this to understand? Ubisoft completely misled the gaming public by showing a CGI cartoon that they tried to pass off as an actual game. Not once did they make any kind of effort to inform the public that the video was a target render instead of an actual in-game engine! These kinds of "bush league" tactics need to stop! They are completely disingenuous and undermines the trust of the consumer! If you can't see that then you've had...
You're a dumbass and probably work for Ubisoft! If you're fine with companies purposely undermining their customers by publicly previewing a game under false pretenses then you are absolutely part of the problem! How dare you try to make Ubisoft out to be the victim here! If they wanted to avoid this backlash then they shouldn't have shown everyone that Pixar movie 2 years ago!
But what's worse is that this doesn't even look as good as the PS4 footage...
This is not a console performance issue. This is a bait and switch tactic that is completely unethical and IMO should be illegal. If you're perfectly OK with companies lying to their consumers like this then you are a contributor to the problem! If Ubisoft didn't want this kind of backlash then they shouldn't have shown everyone that Pixar cartoon at E3 and try to pass it off as an accurate representation of the final game!
The thing is, it's not just that U...
As a PS4 owner I would gladly take 720p resolution with the original unveiling's graphical fidelity over 1080p and the crap they showed us yesterday! Resolution isn't everything.
SoapShoes: "You want my opinion? Maybe Bruce and Neil just haven't caught wind of it right away? Not everyone comes to N4G."
@SoapShoes
In this day and age of social media I find that VERY hard to believe. I'm sure once the story broke they were both texted, twittered, and facebooked to death!
Congratulations Ubisoft! You just helped create a new negative buzzword in the gaming industry! From now on when I see a game that's been downgraded I will officially say it has been "Watch Dogged."
By consoles you mean last gen consoles right?
PS4 is currently handling high end PC titles just fine! You want to tout PC superiority that's fine but don't blame a poorly developed game such as this on PS4 or Xbone.
I see what you did there! LOL!
Point taken. But it's been 4 months since launch. You can't tell me 4 months isn't enough time get a working demo of an already finished game up on the store. Also, there's already a freaking Knack demo and Octodad demo on the in-store PS4 demo units! Don't tell me Sony couldn't put those up on the PSN.
It's a little garish for my taste but I'm sure some will eat this up.
It absolutely does! Runs better (on PS4 anyway) too!
This isn't a problem just for Infamous, I am getting increasingly irritated by the lack of demos as a whole on PS4. No Madden demo, no NBA 2k14 demo, no Knack demo, no Killzone demo, no Infamous demo, no Need 4 Speed demo, and on and on and on. What is up with this??
This is precisely why Ubisoft will not be getting my money for this game! It's the principle of their practices that sours my stomach!
Horseshit! So you're saying it's OUR fault that Ubisoft intentionally undermined the gaming public by showing footage that they knew good and well had no prayer of being an accurate representation of the final game? Dude GTFO! You're blind acceptance of these kinds of "bush league" tactics is part of the problem! Developers need to understand that they cannot get away with this kind of nonsense! Gamers don't like being lied to! They don't like being undermi...
What upsets me the most about this whole debacle is that it clearly shows a complete lack of respect and value for us the customers. Ubisoft showed us amazing footage 2 years ago that they clearly knew would not be an accurate representation of the final game. What were they thinking? That gamers were suddenly going to forget about what they saw? Even the supposed PS4 demo they showed at last E3 was lightyears beyond this! This doesn't even look next gen! I honestly thought we were ...
Only you and Ray Charles think so!
Go away! Don't you have a hard drive to defrag?
Can't use that excuse. Games like Destiny and and Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes are also multi-generational titles and they look amazing.
AceBlacer13, you are absolutely correct!! Consider this, the 360 was only as popular as it was was because...
1.) They launched a full year before PS3
2.) They launched with a huge price advantage
3.) They had a huge marketing machine
4.) They had the better online infastructure.
Yet inspite of all that, Sony managed to crawl and scratch back to pulling ahead of the 360 globally. That's a huge testament the power of the PS bran...
Geekman,
you still don't get it do you? What gamers are tired of is companies like Ubisoft trying to pass off "Pixar" videos as true representations of what the game will actually look like. It's this kind of attitude that you have thats let companies continue to get away with such "bush league" tactics. To make matters worse, the game right now looks WORSE than not only the 2012 CGI movie but also the 2013 E3 reveal that was supposed to be runn...
