@rjason12
If you starve a populous they'll eat anything you offer them.
Of COURSE Nintendo's software enjoys high attach rates on the Wii U. It literally has NOTHING to compete with. The system has virtually no 3rd party support and Nintendo only seems to put out 3 or 4 new exclusives a year. No wonder so many owners buy up anything Nintendo releases. What the hell else are they going to play?
Not exactly earth-shattering news but, maybe it's symbolic of Nintendo wanting to get back to it's roots.
That's Nintendo's fault for not using them to be a more integral part of their games. Alternate costumes just aren't enough of an incentive.
I hope not (but I'm sure it will be).
Does this update include the revamp of the PS Store?
@Ozmoses,
It's Abzu but I wasn't sure if that one was 2016 or 17.
LOL I knew I'd forget some!
yep! I made the correction! :-D
Man, what a great run the PS4 is having since January!
The Witness
Fire Watch
Gravity Rush
Helldivers
Street Fighter V
Broforce
Day of the Tentacle
Salt and Sanctuary
MLB The Show 16
and April through June we're getting...
Ratchet and Clank
Alienation
Uncharted 4
Shadow of the Beast
No Man's Sky
Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithless...
1.) DLC/micro transactions and season passes!
2.) Multiplayer only gaming
3.) Gamer's obsession with resolution and frames per second
4.) Too many open world games
5.) The inordinate focus on indie titles
I played it both ways. Honestly, I didn't find the English voice overs all that bad and I was expecting them to be.
Relatively speaking, 500 mill in R&D isn't all that high. I'm pretty sure Sony spent over a billion in R&D on the CELL processor that went into the PS3.
"Wallstreet37 It's a game from a studio that is highly respected and regarded as one of the best."
LMAO! Since WHEN?? Alan Wake was overrated as all get out! Remedy is a decent developer but stop trying to pretend they're on the same level as Naughty Dog or Rock Star.
I don't really mind the free indie games but I do have to scratch my head as to why certain PS4 games haven't been made as part of the instant games collection yet. Launch window games like Killzone Shadowfall, Knack, Assassins Creed: Black Flag, Infamous Second Son & First Light, The Order 1886, etc. Virtually no one is buying these anymore. Why not include them in the instant games collection and get a few more people playing them?
New full version every other year with roster/uniform update DLC in the in between years.
Can't say I'm either one until I know exactly what it is first.
"When you look at the advancement of game-tech alone from the 90s to the early 2000s, to the mid-to-late 2000s, there were drastic leaps. We haven't seen anything relative to those sort of leaps in years."
@JackStraw
That's because we're getting to an order of diminishing returns with graphics. I look at a game like Battlefront and I think to myself, honestly, how much better looking can it get? Plus we have to understand that despite ...
" I also think the timing of this news from both Sony and MS is a statement of intent to Nintendo. It means that Nintendo have no way of knowing what their machine has to be to compete."
I think it's more of a testament to how weak the PS4 and X1 consoles were designed to be from the get go (relative to past hardware jumps). This generation has by far been the smallest jump in graphics/performance from the previous generation I've ever seen. Typically in g...
@nt2Killinit
Well said! The PlayStation brand has been a model of consistency for offering the biggest, most diverse library of games for 20 years! Sony has always prioritized the PlayStation brand has being first and foremost a gaming platform. That's why I never bought into Xbox. MS wasn't the least bit interested in the gaming industry. They wanted our living room. Gaming was merely one small aspect of their device. I've said it many times, of the three pla...
Despite the fact that Nintendo makes some great games, you can't blame the masses for not believing in Wii U enough to invest in it because they have legitimate cause not to. Nintendo put out an underpowered console that most 3rd parties didn't want to touch along with an absolute archaic network that was 10 years behind its competitors. Having a solid 1st party library is great and all, but most gamers don't see that as enough to warrant investing in an entire platform for. No o...
