@GameDev1
Yeah but what exactly are they innovating? Other than the upgrade in graphics, GT has not evolved all that much since GT3 A-Spec. Certainly not enough to justify the long long wait between releases.
Yes you must have the PS4 to make PSVR to work.
I hope so. Two of my favorite games from the PS3 era were Wipeout HD and Motorstorm. Now both of those IP's are in limbo. Add to that Mod Nation Racers and that's 3 great racing games, all very different yet equally fun, that are completely missing from the PS4.
The "gaping hole" for me is the fact that it takes Polyphony so damn long to get their games out. The fact that we are well into year 3 of the PS4's life and still don't have Gran Turismo to play on it is borderline stupid! Yet Turn 10 can crank out Forza every 2 years and manages to make it better each time. It makes me wonder, what the hell is Polyphony doing all that time? If Turn 10 can be so prolific and maintain high quality with Forza, why can't Polyphony?
I'm fine with emulation, as long as your PC can recognize and play the disks. At least that gives players an incentive to go and purchase the games. However I am NOT fine with free ROM download. That is criminal IMO.
@MachoMan
You know you don't have to keep EVERYTHING you've ever purchased on your hard drive. I'm still using the original 500mb hard drive that came with my PS4 and I'm fine on space. Know why? Because I'm only interested in keeping what I'm playing at the time on there. Games that I've already beaten or no longer hold interest for me I have deleted off. They're still there in my que. They're still tied to my PSN profile so it's...
I was fine with Sony announcing the 399.99 core bundle without the camera. However I still think they should've clarified during the presser that it didn't include the camera and along with that, go ahead and announce the 499.99 sku with the camera as well. It would've come across more transparent and less lying by omission.
They seem pretty gracious towards Sony over the whole thing so no, I doubt it was unexpected. I'd be interested to see if any of them continue to work as a part of other Sony studios.
Agreed. I'm fine with a revision of PS4, like a PS4 slim with a 2TB hardrive and maybe 4K UHD blu ray support. Sony did this with PS3 where they eventually released a version with lossless audio support. But I dont want to see Sony go the cell phone route where we get incremental increases in system performance every 2 years. That completely ruins the beauty and appeal of consoles.
Tekken Tag Tournament on PS2 remains to this day my favorite version. I also enjoyed the old PSP version quite a bit as well.
I'm as big a PlayStation homer as you will find, however I think these kinds of deals are terrible for gaming. I didn't like it when MS struck this kind of deal for Rise of the Tomb Raider and I will not like it if Sony strikes an exclusivity deal for Tekken. I will NEVER be an advocate for keeping games out of the hands of a certain segment of the gaming population due to this kind of pettiness. I say not only put it in the hands of both user bases but make it so each user base ca...
Yes but we don't live in fantasy land where bottom lines don't matter and companies measure a consoles success by how "awesome" it's library is.
@thekhurg
Because the engineering of the X1 was incredibly short-sighted.
Like so many UBISoft titles, I like The Division but I don't love it. For whatever reason, UBISoft titles come up short of touching greatness.
Well, it's a bit of an unfair comparison since one is a last gen game and one is a current gen game. Both games are great. However I liked The Last of Us more from a narrative standpoint and just an overall tighter gaming experience (The Witcher 3's story wasn't as good and is too bloated. It went on and on for too long IMO. If I didn't know any better I would've thought Peter Jackson produced this game). Plus you can't ignore the really solid multiplayer in The La...
You have the title completely backwards. The question you should be asking is "Does Occulus and HTC have what it takes to compete with the PSVR juggernaut." PSVR will absolutely own the home VR market almost as soon as it launches.
Sony should not have been so misleading in announcing that 399.99 price point. It was fine to announce a 399.99 core sku. I get why a core sku is necessary since many gamers already bought the camera. However they should've announced right along side of it the bundle that MOST PS4 owners interested in VR will actually need. I know a lot of PS4 owners bought cameras but a much much greater number didn't. It was wrong of Sony to announce that price point and then walk away with absolute...
My only concern with reprojection is what kind of lag does that introduce? If it works similar to motion smoothing on my TV, then a certain amount of lag will be inevitable. If Sony has found a way to implement it with little to no discernible lag then great! They should look to implement that into their consoles to ensure a constant 60fps with all of their games, VR or not.
Less than .18 ms I think
@Liq1d
GT Sport is NOT GT7 and Polyphony has made that very clear. GT7 isn't anywhere in sight.
