Their gaming department also include the PS2 (very profitable), but I feel sales of that may start to drop off at much faster rate when the lower 360's are on the shelves and so reducing Sony's profits, making it harder for them to reduce the price of the PS3.

Anyone know when / if they will be hitting the UK?

Yes, jump in. My original uk launch xbox RRoD after about 20 months, got fixed within 10 days, it's been fine for the past year, it gets used for about 6 hours a day on average. Also I have an UK launch Elite from last year and not had a problem with that unit.

The xbox also has a premium addition at 27, so I think these 2 added will be higher than the PS3 version

XMB was a copy of Windows media center.

I blame Sony, they should have had rumble available on day one, and not just say that it is last gen. They had plenty to sort this and pay the required royalties but they just got too big headed and said that is was not needed.

If it wasn't for xbox & xbox 360 bringing out live, I don't think Sony would have bothered with the PSN. They were forced into it by the competition. I'm with you on the cost, $5 is nothing, I pay for two gold accounts my sons & mine, I'm not complaining.

@ E3 they said it would be released at the same time in USA & Europe. Major Nelson also confirmed this in his pod cast.

Isn't the same a Sony putting Miis in HOME? or are they some how different?

But surly it is good to take old ideas and games an bring them up to date and on this generation of consoles.

Karaoke Revolution was on the xbox and PS2 before singstar. I see LIPS as an update to this.

No, you are not forced to pay for it, you can choose not to.

I think it's more to do with the fact everybody on live has a headset, and a lot more people are playing on live.

I’m also looking forward to this, Fable was excellent. The only thing I didn't like about the first was that once you finished the game you couldn't continue and do all the side quests; hopefully they will have sorted that in Fable 2

Sony are still struggling with the cell, look how long it is taking HOME to be released and the in game XMB only partly/doesn't work with some games.

and it's what Sony promised. I don't even mind paying more for it. Just give me the option.

The last thing I want is it to be the center of my living room. As my son & I like gaming while the rest of the family watch TV. I have one room setup for gaming and another for TV and watching movies. PlayTV is too expensive at £70. You can get a Freeview twin tuner and hdd recorder for £60.

I like vista, I have 2 PC running visa and my lap top. My own PC I run under XP only because I'm a software engineer and not all the embedded tools I use have drivers for vista, but that will change over time I'm sure.
