With so many consumers waiting on good reasons to buy a gaming console this year, it's inevitable for most of them to get a PS3.
With 3 system sellers franchises coming the same year (MGS4, FF and GT5), plus highly anticipated games like KZ2, LBP, Resistance2, GTA4 and DMC4, it's just VERY difficult to pass on it.

Yeah most of those things were done before, but MS still copied most of them from Sony trying to keep up with them.

First of all I think it's not a good idea to buy HDDVD players right now...
I do think that HDDVD players are not useless though, because a lot of people bought movies for it and great ones at that.
The question is: why would this people buy the same HDDVD movies on bluray?? if they're not movie and technology enthusiasts they will not buy the movie again.
So having an HDDVD right now is good so you can see those HD movies whenever you can.
