well, since Jaffe said "software BC", the announcement might actually be a FW update !!
Id prefer a really big FW update with loads of features now and price-cut later than price-cut now and new FW later !
EDIT: Although if that account is fake, then the announcement will prob be something really crap like the new version of singstar or sumfn.
Everyone always said the ps3 "had" no games, well i never noticed that, to me the ps3 had it's exclusives, and so did the 360. They were basically even, with most 3rd party games multi-plat.
The ps3 was just starting off, building up it's library, there was really only a handfull of games the 360 had released in the year it had been out that were actually good and worth playing, so missing out on like 30+ games that were not worth buying didnt exactly bother me.

Well, obv now the specs of laptops have gone up, so they can run Vista ok now.
But my sis bought a cheap laptop, it had 1gb of memory, and Vista requires 1gb to run haha, so all the effects etc were turned off, so basically looked almost as basic as xp, except taking up HUGE amounts of resources etc.
I have Vista and it runs great, not slow at all, but thats on a PC that has high specs, if people are buying the cheapest laptops, they wont have as high specs and wont ...
Well i have had a Hardrive Samsung mp4 player, 3 ipods and a bunch of cheaper mp3 players. My ipods have never,ever broken or gone faulty, and thats with one getting clipped by a car on floor (still worked!!).
As for all the others, they constantly freeze, crash, ssllloooooww to transfer songs (you have to admite, snycing on an ipod is alot faster than normal mp3's).
Also, its only because the hardrive has moving parts it breaks, that is a problem subject to anything...

Its not all about raw specs, if it was, people would buy the cheapest no-name everything instead of paying extra for something you KNOW will be reliable, supported and do what it is meant to do.
Yes Apple products are expensive, but it is quality that matters. The OS, for example, is built with specs of the Mac in mind, if you buy a cheap laptop running Vista, well, it barely runs at all ! etc.

ipods may be a little expensive, but look at what they bring, a VERY thin and really expensive looking design, instead of a cheap plastic look.

i did have a ps2, but didnt play it, i only had like the worst games (like star trek games etc), i didnt know about God of War or any of the other great games to play, so i just sold my ps2 coz i never played it.
Then i started to hear about the ps3 and found out about all these games etc, im so glad i bought a ps3 when it came out, ps2 backwards combatable FTW!!!
Ipods are great, but they still dont support DivX !!
But i can put up with it, doesnt take long to convert a vid to ipod format (because of smaller screen/file size etc)
I dont really care about the browser because i never use it.
All i want fixed in future FW updates are faster loading of trophies on PSN cards, faster in-game xmb, maybe even in-game Music Universally, some Interface enhancements (such as the clock/controller bat indicate overlay etc) and cross-game-chat.
O and custom avatars is a must!! i have like 14 people on my PSN friends list with the same avatar as me!
Those sort of things will be touched up towards the end of development, im sure when the game releases everything will be polished like the first

Unless its a big FW update that will bring alot of stuff, i think it will be a price-cut. Sony usually dont let people know theres a FW coming incase of delay etc (except on the blog the day before)

My guess is a price-drop, since that is very big news and im guessing will make a big difference in sales.
If true, Sony clearly want to hype whatever it is and stir up the internet, so i doubt it will disappoint.
well if they attacked u all at once, it wouldnt be much of a game since you would last about 1 sec, and they didnt just stand there, granted those in the background were just flowing in after you have defeated those around you, but they would do far more than stand there!!!
And i was just proving the ps3 can "handle" the polygons, Zombie AI isnt exactly going to be extremely advanced either !!
lol it has shown it already can, just take a look at Heavnly Sword last levels, thousands of enemys and you are able to interact with all of them and without "dumb" AI as a compromise. (not to mention all of the amazing visuals going on around you such as huge catapults etc!!)

Ye, the purpose of DLC is to get people playing the game again after months and to give extra content for people still playing the game.
What we see now is companies actually WITHHOLDING content so they can sell it as DLC a few weeks or even days after the game releases !!
Just so they can make more money.
When a game is released, it should include everything possible that the devs have created, then develop some extra content later, not hold on to things or ta...
Thats what i meant, although MW2 will prob be a good game with great online, i already have like 4 FPS and i see no point in buying MW2 if it is just COD4 with enhancements, as all the games i mentioned bring different things - like sandbox open-world powers, cinematic story and action,
i already have like 3 FPS i currently play online, if i am to buy another (MW2) it will have to "WOW" me to seperate it from the other 15 shooters coming out haha
well put it this way, MS bash Sony 85% of the time, while Sony rarely ever mentions the 360, only what services they provide, e.g "Access PSN for FREE to play online against your friends!", showing what they offer without mentioning the 360 at all.
