I have a "classic" 60gb and its loads better than my new Slim! Wish I just kept that instead now.
My old phat launch 60gb was quieter, had memory card readers, 4 usb ports (which i actually use more than 2 now I have more peripherals etc), not to mention full B/C with PS2/PS1 games.
As for certain game breaking certain models of ps3's, I dont buy it. I mean, every game is identical and every ps3 can play it at the exact same level, the only diff...

Anyone else notice almost EVERY video shown online to do with Black Ops is the 360 version and never the PS3 version?
That goes for most multi plat titles too... lol
The reason why when there is a crap running ps3 game and the developer gets the blame is because the PS3 has shown what it can do time and again (Uncharted 2/God Of War 3/Killzone 2/3 for example).
These are the best looking games available on consoles and there is no game on 360 that can match the tech/graphical level of these games, lets be real, there are great looking 360 games but there is only 1 or 2 that can compare to todays ps3 exclusives.

7 million game sales day 1. It is understandable that their servers may be stressed the first week or so of going on sale lol.
HOWEVER...The game sold over 7 million copies day 1, how can there be any argument AT ALL of them justifying why they have been cheap and have servers incapable of keeping up, when they have already earned over half a BILLION $ after 1 DAY of sales!!!

I actually think FOM had better graphics than R2! (for the most part anyway).
R2 looked really bad in some parts, like the big leviathan fight where it looked good but everything else looked soo bad (like getting thrown through that window lol, just took away from the epic-ness of the fight really, when you compare it to GOW3 especially.

It's out tomorrow (in UK) and its only £36 on Amazon, goes up to £50 after the game is out lol, stuck whether to get another COD game. Might sell MW2 though, but if it turns into COD:WOW and everyone goes back to COD4/MW2 then its a waste.

^^^ all you have to compare Move to are the casual counter parts, which most people who actually care about games are not interested in.
Where is the Kinect counterpart for RE5? Or Killzone 3? Or Heavy Rain, LBP 2 etc the list goes on.
They are REAL games WORTH playing for more than 20 min and Kinect doesn't have any..

All of you saying it is not cluttered and confusing have been using the XMB for years and have grown used to all of the additions etc.
If you were starting fresh and first time using it you would atleast think there are alot of icons that do the same thing here etc and would quickly realise after spending about 15 min using it that most of these "additions" are useless (Video editor/other photo albums etc)
It was simple and easy to use years ago, like I said...
A better idea would be actually improving the XMB so it isn't so cluttered and confusing in the first place lol.
I can see some casuals being confused on just what all of these icons do, since they all seem to do the same thing, like in the photo category, there are a few photo apps which essentially do the same thing - view photos in a different way and make albums/group them, why not have them all under a single icon i.e Editing?
Or better yet just add those op...

Also, glad to hear they are bringing co-op back into the campaign, the multi-player co-op in R2 was good but it really got boring fast since there were so few maps and once you have been through the cycle of spawn points etc there was no reason to play.
"The Mutator" weapon sounds so good haha, will be fun to use.
I use the Media server all the time so have to have it on.
The XMB is so cluttered now, if they would just organise the columns more, like for the gaming colum have all memory cards into 1 icon and then can expand into PS2/PS1 etc.
There is alot that still needs to be done to XMB but Sony seem to be slowing down in terms of features to XMB they are adding, just little extra's here and there.
I still cant believe they haven't added the option ...
Thats good, as soon as I get the money soon I think I'll subscribe, wonder what the extra charges are to stream films, if they are part of your monthly allowance thing lol.
Only thing is, the XMB is already cluttered with icons, now there is ANOTHER icon in the Video section, it's getting a bit unorganised.
They should put the icon in the TV section, since there is only 1 icon in the category anyway (for UK anyway).
Lag isn't the main issue (even though it is pretty bad on Kinect)

Well... SOME developers can give credit and aren't just fanboys lol.
If i were you i would definitely get the slim.
If your 60gb has overheated to the point of not working, they will replace the one thing that gave way, but there may be further damage that will start to make problems later on.
Also, Slims are meant to be really reliable so getting that will probably be that last thing you have to pay for years until the next gen roles around.
