The reason why MS said no to cross platform play with Sony last gen it was because it would help Sony when Sony was behind.
Now that Sony is ahead Sony is refusing cross platform with MS because it would help MS.

Don't know why but I really don't care about rumble since the PS2 days. Honestly everything has been gimmicky like with the six axis (exception Warhawk!!) but even the touch pad is pretty non feature for me.
