Man, I already have a back log! This is what I get for being a damn completionist. Very excited for the impending few months' worth of games.
I agree, and as pointed out in other comments, DirecTV and other companies do it too. The difference is in the execution. Other companies promotions are a successful product that they want you to tell your friends about. In this case, it's a last ditch effort to get customers to support the Vita.
Get support on the developer side of it, and people will come in droves, without needing to offer money. The Vita really is an amazing piece of tech, truly a marvel in handheld ...
I like that the majority of people seem to be planning on playing Ni no Kuni this weekend.
This is sad. I'm a staunch Vita supporter, but really, like you said, Sony needs to sell their own products themselves. You shouldn't need to offer me an incentive to tell my friends about the Vita, your product should be so good, and SUPPORTED that it makes me want to pitch it to my friends myself. That, or well advertised enough that they already know about it without my input.
Who is the stunning man in that picture?
Next they'll patent retractable needles that stab your hands when you get shot or hit.
It's good to hear of so much activity from Quantic Dream. They are a very promising developer that has some incredible talent with what they do, so even this small tidbit of news is great news.
Wait wait wait.... so you're telling me that you can't believe everything that you read on the web??
It was a very minor portion of the four chapters that we played, and fits with that part of the story very well. Don't worry, Necromorphs are still the main focus.
Those games were already pretty long in their own rights too, so this one is looking like it will be a beast. Anyone going for Platinum or 1000 Gamerscore is going to be in for a hell of a ride.
A good, level-headed wishlist. It's not some absurd over the top WE WANT A COFFEE MAKER AND PORN wishlist, but rather states the very basics that are actually worth talking and speculating about.
Thanks, I hope that people get some value out of it. I think it has a lot of great information; we'll see if people concur.
Hours of work went into the transcription of that bad boy... but it was a great talk with him, especially because he seemed to open up more about things at the end. That's where we got the details on Dead Space 3's Hard Core Mode and confirmed the length of the game.
This preview was based on the first four chapters (roughly three hours) of the game. I found that during this time there were plenty of horror elements and moments in the game. We played in dimly lit rooms, with headsets on for the audio that really got us into the experience. But horror elements aside, this is just a great and fun game with a very compelling story. Plus the fear of Hard Core mode... not being able to die? It will be constant tension.
If you are talking about how action based this game is, then I can safely say that it is not like the new RE's. I attended this preview event as well and the game retains the classic Dead Space charm. It has not been Resident Evil-ed. If you are worried about it being too action based, then I really think that you don't have anything to worry about.
It's amazing how many games are now trending towards Special Editions in order to make a bit of extra cash. I'm not against it, at least the base price of games isn't going up, but it seems that nearly every game has a box set collectors special supremo metal case bonus comic edition now.
Well written preview of the game. I'm amazed that a trilogy can continue to evolve so effectively without growing stale and still leave you wanting more.
Yeah, we're not doing too hot over here in the US, but we still have a fair number of retailers. Selection still sucks in most of the big box stores, but it sounds like it's better than the bleak situation described for the UK.
Interesting to note how many people are going back to their old backlog and playing those games! Gotta get as much of it out of the way as you can before all of the amazing titles this year!
Only 5-6 months left top pick these up! Man, I need to grab them soon! Is it because there are no other big Vita games to replace them with? I mean... last week's free game for NA was Foosball 2012.... for both PS3 and Vita. That's weak.
