I like their "No comment" "May or may not be working on" response to this. In most cases (granted, not all cases), they care about "leaks" like this because it's something that they are actually working on and they feel the need to plug the holes. And in plugging the holes, they effectively confirm that they have something up their sleeve.

I sure as hell hope not. Lower prices would equal a larger amount of purchases, which would ultimately equate to more money for the developer, one would hope. It's better to have 5 people buy your game at $40 than to have 2 people buy your game at $60.
Sly and Dead Space are getting my time this weekend. It's the first time I've played brand new games in a little bit, so I still need to go back to my back catalog sometime soon.

On another note, the irony of this deal is that you trade in 8 games, in order to buy a game system. Wouldn't having the eight games likely dictate that you already have the console in question? Unless we're talking trading in Xbox games here.
Yeah, I don't think there is one clear "victor" in the games industry. There's always the need for competition.
Personally I think all new games should launch at 40. More new sales for developers, less used sales. But at least some people have it right.

I agree with this except the Nintendo part. I really don't think that the release of the Wii U will have any bearing on the Next-gen of Sony and Microsoft.
It would be silly if the hashtag #playstation2013 was for a console that was coming out in 2014. So yes, it'll be out by the end of the year.
