Sony's 1st attempt was great compared to like, the Sega Nomad. And it made a profit out of it so the PS3 could be supported, what also was their mistake letting the PSP 'die'.

Yes, I agree but Forza 4 releases a year after GT5, it's fun to play a new a racing game every year so why bash it damn it.
Just complete GT5 and if you have a 360, buy Forza 4 when you feel to have something different.
