How can you compare Splinter Cell with MGS?
It's like comparing Jrpgs with Wrpg's, they are different, MGS is totally different from Splinter Cell apart from the genre.
Splinter Cell can just as good as MGS, but in it's own way.
We wouldn't have awesome games coming out (Mass Effect 2, God of War 3, Heavy Rain) if there wouldn't be any hardcore competition for Sony/Microsoft, they fight each other with good games, so we, the gamers should want more companies in the industry.
Dead on consoles, yes.

But I really think that the reviewer nailed it, a FF game is about the story and the characters, not about playing it on a 7.1 sound system.
Leave that to your FPS games, Hack and slash etc. Jrpg's gamers care more about the game itself than about the packaging...

NONE of my PS3 owning friend play RPG's, only racing and shooters.
It freaking weird but people I know with 360's do play some WRPG's like Mass Effect (maybe because it's essentially a shooter).
And the only people I know who like Jrpg's have a Wii and a DS...
And I know why: There isn't a no.1 JRPG platform anymore like the SNES, PS1 and PS2, the freaking Wii has the most Jrpg's because most developers can't afford 360 and PS3 development D;
The game is all about strategy, the guy that told you otherwise was a **** that didn't even played beyond chapter 1.
it will sell enough, the PS3 version WILL outsell the 360 version 2-1 but even 500k would be enough to make money on a cheap port.
Really what's wrong with SE making PS3 based games and giving them gimped 360 releases? The PS3 will be utilized fully and while in finishing development stage of the ULTIMATE VERSION on PS3 they will use the PS3 based textures etc. and scale it down for the 360.
