There are an insane number of 19.99 PS2 greatest hits games left for people to play. I've been rushing through as many as possible before Warhawk, Lair, Heavenly Sword and others all hit over the next few months.

PS1 BC is exactly the same since it is software based.
PS2 BC should be just like Euro PS3s that have the EE software emulated. People say that right now 85-90 percent of PS2 games work flawlessly. There is a Sony site that lets you type in games and it will tell you its current BC status. Each firmware update Sony has been quickly updating games that have problems.

You have to be joking...Halo 3 has been getting laughed at by gamers since the early crappy alpha shots right up to Bungie's Halo 3 flop at E3.
The 110 million PS2 owners who didn't give a damn about Halo last will go right on not giving a damn about Halo 3.
The 23 million GameCube owners who didn't give a damn about Halo last will go right on not giving a damn about Halo 3.
It takes a few playthroughs to get just how good the combat system is with the different stances, the counters, picking up and throwing objects and enemies, and other details that you will miss on the first playthrough.
It is too bad they didn't just make the last battle area cycle forever so you don't have to go through the start of the demo over and over again. Regardless, the graphics look amazing, the fighting is deep and satisfying, and the story/presentation looks awesome...
