I really, really, really want Miyazaki to direct this. No offense to the DS2 director and team, but when you got a visionary who is Miyazaki working on a game, you don't let him go.
Dark Souls 2 have some elements from Demon's Souls that worked well for Demon's Souls. Do these elements work well in DS2? My answer is no.
In my own opinion, DS2 was trying to be two things at the same time - Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. I'm not discouraging you from buying DS2, but if you didn't like Dark Souls, I don't see any reason why you would like DS2.
Demon's Souls really re-established that type of game in which players are expected to learn and be thinkers.
The sense of reward in this game is, dare I say, better than its two successors.
While I've been very vocal about DS2 not being superior to DS or Demon's Souls, it is by no means a bad game, let alone THE worst game ever made.
Having said that, DS2 is a bit of a let-down for me. This is just my opinion, but an opinion with good bases.
Can't wait!
Wise words from this visionary. I just hope he said that 7 years ago so many JRPGs didn't feel the need to "be" western.
This! Hidetaka Miyazaki envisioned a dark-fantasy game in the form of Demon's Souls and pulled it off. Though it wasn't perfect, it was a critical (and sales) success. Dark Souls, although quite similar to Demon's, improved a lot things. Dark Souls' level design was awesome, and so was the progression of the entire game.
Dark Souls 2 is by no means a bad game. It's actually "still" a great game; however, you'll know something's amiss ri...
Yeah! The level design is weak this time. In Dark Souls, most areas are well mapped, and most of them have interconnection. DS2 strays away from this level design in that after a major boss battle, you'll see yourself using a warp bonfire to Majula.
I also think that giving you the means to jump from one bonfire to another right away is an immersion breaker.
I hope Hidetaka Yamazaki creates a new dark-fantasy game that greatly improves upon the DS ser...
I love Dark Souls 2, but it, for me, is a lot weaker in some aspects than the original.
I hope DS3 goes back to a persistent, less open world. Opening most of the locations like in DS2 right off the bat makes it less of a cohesive experiece.
The director of this game left for a reason. The effect of him leaving can somehow be felt in this product.
Finally! I was considering buying a Vita TV for this but this one's gooood!
I would like a new Wild Arms game! I also hope they make a new Shadow Hearts game. I miss the PS1-PS2 JRPGs reall... :(
Sony's PS console is the system to own if you're serious with gaming for a loooong time. Time and time again, Sony proves that gaming is their top priority with every console launched. PS3 had a rough start, but at this moment, it is a wonder and will still be in the years to come!
When this game releases, SE might release a DLC which allows you to play as Lightning... then...
Lightning Returns: FFXV
Yea, I forgot about Dark Souls 2. I'm not really into South Park, so I'll pass on that one.
Can't wait to see an in-depth gameplay footage of this game. This, Xillia 2, and Persona 5 make PS3 the JRPG console this 2014.
This game is really under my radar now. I like the atmosphere and the overall presentation. I don't know about you guys but this is waaaaay better than RE5 and RE6. I hope Konami reboots Silent Hill or creates a new Survival Horror IP! I want the horror back!
I think Nintendo only needs to remarket the Wii U for it to sell more. I've been a gamer since 9 and I must admit that when the Wii U news broke out, I was confused whether it's a new controller (an add-on to the original Wii) or a new console.
Following my gamer's instinct, I researched on it some more and found out the truth. Thing is, if you are a potential customer, but not really a gamer, and you already have a Wii, you won't really dig into things to kno...
I am definitely excited about Uncharted 4; however, if we're talking about a new game from the TLoU team, I think they will try a space opera next. It could be Savage Starlight, but I want a rename like just "Savage" or just "Starlight".
Sony pushed the right buttons for the PS4. Sony, keep pushing!
While I agree that the devs should test the waters first, there's really no stopping them from conceptualizing a big franchise from the get-go and sharing it to the world.
The realization of that concept will depend on the appeal of this game, whether critical or sales or both.
