Valve is lead by the very venerable Jedi Master Gabe. I don't know if he would win in a fight against Emperor John Ricitiello and Darth Bobby Kotick, but he definitely fights for the people.
I don't know why you're getting disagrees. The Valve short films have been nothing short of phenomenal.
I can't wait to see what the community does with this.
It's the shady business practices, man.
EA/Bioware are nickel-diming the fanbase for everything they're worth instead of just making a complete game and then moving on to make another complete game.
In order to get the FULL experience you'll need to keep dumping money into the game as opposed to just experiencing it and moving on.
I can go back and play Baldur's Gate 1 and Baldur's Gate 2 all the way through without worr...
How about instead, they just make ME3 a complete experience like ME1 and then move on to work on another complete game so that 10 years from now you'll be able to play all the Mass Effect games without realizing that you'll NEVER get to play some segments because they're tied to a server?
And we all know how long servers last in EA's camp.
Don't you mean the Super Ultimate Galactic Turbo Edition? The Ultimate Edition may come with ME2 and the current slate of DLC, but you'll later have to buy a code to unlock the DLC for the DLC, just like the DLC for the Sims 3 Supernatural DLC.
...and instead only get things from EA. =(
This dude didn't just underestimate Monster Hunter it's like he stepped on Monster Hunter's shoes, called out his mama and then scuffed Monster Hunter's polyester suit.
You don't diss a pimp and expect to be taken seriously.
In Japan, Monster Hunter pimps you.
And I'm looking at another website...

According to the stats, though, mobile gaming (tablets/phones/etc.,) absolutely pale in comparison to home console retail numbers:

That's because it's hard work and a labor of creative love.
There's no love, no creativity and no originality from the big wigs...they don't care about games, gamers or gaming culture.
That's also why people still love Valve as much as they do. It's owned by gamers and ran by gamers and they operate for gamers. Mad love for Valve.

DayZ definitely needs to be on there. Arma 2 is almost nearing the half-million mark thanks to DayZ.
It's going to be a history-making event when DayZ pushes Arma past the million mark with ZERO marketing and just word of mouth boosting sales.
I was actually discussing this the other day, and we were saying the same thing: that in a real zombie survival situation the people with military smarts would probably last a lot longer.
The same thing seems to apply to DayZ and i think that makes it pretty cool. You have your crazy douche bag bandits, the people who are just trying to survive, the newbs and the combat savvy gamers all tossed into a mixing bowl with zombies.
When this goes on sale I'm de...
The game never ends. It's persistent and it's basically a test to see how long you can survive.
The average time of survival is usually about 33 minutes, either because "bandits" get you, a paranoid player shoots you or zombies overrun you and eat the flesh off your bones, leaving your body a bloody carcass.
To be honest,
if you play GTA IV with icEnhancer and the "realistic physics" mod, it's vastly different than playing a game like Gears of War or GTA: SA. The shootouts in GTA IV take on a completely different feel thanks to the graphics and physics, so I would say that yes I am part of the community where graphics do sway me in the way I interact and appreciate some games.
However, I think art-style plays a lot in how a game evolves graphically ...
Of course it is.
No offense to Arma fanboys but DayZ, in my opinion, is a better game than Arma.
The thing is, Arma 2 is a very strict military shooter. You can hardly see who you're shooting at and the combat is methodical and...well..very realistic (or as real as it gets as a 3D simulator).
DayZ takes that realism but applies horror-survival to the mix and it's amazing. I love watching the video journals of different people because...
He must have confused Rockstar with Activision and meant to ask "Is Call of Duty still relevant?" to which I would respond, "No."
lol, I know right?
Also, look at the modding community...other than DayZ the only other game with mainstream mod recognition is GTA IV. Who in the core community hasn't had a whiff of iCEnhancer yet? Everyone knows about it now and it's become the new Crysis for benchmark standards in video game photorealism.
More than anything, GTA has proven to be more relevant than all those other cookie-cutter games media shoves down our throat to pretend to be r...
The indie game Perspective says "Hi".
You don't need new hardware to be creative.
I get what Gespenst is saying, though.
I mean, software tech is waaaaaay beyond what the 360/PS3/Wii can handle but we're still playing the same games we've been playing since 2006/2007.
I recently seen some footage of that game Heist and it makes me question WTF is up with the industry not making more games like that?
I don't disagree that tech needs to keep moving forward, but at the same time, hot dang they really need to start...
He better hope it was sarcasm...I can already hear the howls of the Valve fanboys from their den.
