I shouldn’t just buy because I like that type of game. That’s how you send the wrong message, that’s how you end up with a multitude of subpar games in the genre which could actually end up in killing the genre.
After years of gaming, I trust my gut, & it says I should wait for trusted reviews, which is exactly what I’ll do. That doesn’t mean I can’t bash on the game for things that clearly move away from what made DA:O great.
It’s Sucker Punch’s next Ghost game. That’s all I need to know to make my decision about buying it. My decision is day 1.
I think what is meant here is that 1st party usually shows off the full potential of the system, which there hasn’t been enough 1st party games to demonstrate that yet. I still think PS5 can do a lot without the need for a pro, case in point Astro Bot.
I personally wouldn’t say it was a letdown because the start of the gen really did make me feel like it was a new gen, between the tech (ps5 + dualsense) & the 1st party games, but now it feels like a mid-gen hiatus due to less 1st party games (except for Astro Bot it really did fill a void).
Completely agree on the PS5 not being used to its fullest potential though.
& now the wait is till 2025 when we’ll actually (hopefully) see the potential of ...
I only have 2 words: Cosmo Canyon.
Legend, I salute you.
Loved & played the PS3 version to completion. Played the PS4 version to completion as well, even though it had some graphical issues. I started this today, it looks better than ever, there are some frame drops & camera issues here & there, but I can see myself playing it once again to completion.
I can’t wait to sit around the tree of life!
And that’s why when I buy a PC game, I buy it from GOG.
Not exactly a game I felt like I needed to play again, it wasn’t a bad game but also I’m not sure who wanted this.
But here’s the kicker, once again, a remake is being sold at full price.
Same levels, same designs, same story, same writing, we need to start calling these for what they are, this isn’t a remake it’s a current-gen remaster.
That award goes to Astro Bot.
You lost me at Monetization Director.
I hope Ubi developers land on their feet, I hope others will learn from Ubi’s inevitable downfall, as for this guy, I wish him warm excrement to the face.
It’s actually a valid concern when devs have more powerful hardware to work with they may get lazy and try less and chalk up lower fps on the base hardware to its "limitations".
Tell her it’s Tokyo, must-see destination, we go to the fish market in the early morning, discover amazing culture during the day, have a drink at a sake bar at night. Go to the science city one day, another day spend some time at an Onsen bathhouse.
Somewhere around that, you sneak in to TGS!
And if you have the time, Kyoto is a must, you get there from Tokyo by shinkansen bullet train, and I remember there was a temple up 300 stairs, you throw small frisbee-like plates ma...
That’s how I’d understand it. I thought they’d go back to Jin though. Imo his story needs a sequel.
Mark my words, maybe not God of War, maybe not SSM, but a few years from now, the story will be one of vengeance, the protagonist will be there, the gameplay will meet the expectations, and the right team will be put together, it will feel so refreshing again, and we will rejoice. It’s inevitable.
I was there in 2013. Almost went this year. Hopefully 2025.
It was definitely disappointing for me not to see a sequel to Jin’s story.
At the same time Sucker Punch earned my trust with Ghost of Tsushima, so if Yotei is the next story they want to tell, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. I will however hold out hope for Jin’s next story after it.
Respect.
I expected it to sell but maybe not that well. But I’ll maintain it’s too expensive for me at that price point without the disc drive.
Let’s hope those voting with their wallets don’t usher in Sony’s Apple-age.
Only 1 Outlaws in my book :) didn’t play the Star Wars one.
How’s that? Care to elaborate?
Still has bugs but still so good. 1 thing though, would’ve been nice to have complete dynamic UI, the gun/grab and horse icons and minimap are always on-screen.
