The fact a remaster sold what it did makes me want to vomit inside. Final Fantasy X is what started the spiral in quality for Square Enix, and we are still paying for it today with the horrid Final Fantasy XIII trilogy of games.

Better brace yourself then. Remember that one of the leads on Kingdom Hearts III is helming this. They see what they have done as learning new ways to "improve" original design. I wouldn't hold onto that hope too tightly. They did say embrace whatever it brings.
I love Episode Duscae. And it would be easy to translate the Materia System to give you multiple options in battle like in FFXV. (Easy as in design theory, not easy programming wise.)

Nomura has made it crystal clear this is a reboot. Not a remake. "Remake" is a very loose term here and he went on record with Gamespot saying - "If we were just going to make it exactly like the original, we would just port the International Version." I thought it was great that they even insinuated in the voice over for the trailer that it may make people afraid of it coming, or it may bring joy, but that whatever it brings we should all embrace it. I think that was a message from the old school team directly to the fans. I hope we all heed it.
I would settle for Final Fantasy VII with a close to the original story in an open world re-building of the original game world with Final Fantasy XV game mechanics. But lord almighty would that be a lengthy project. I don't want to think about a release date right now.
Or the worst case scenario? They turn around and build FF7 with the layout of Final Fantasy XIII. Ugh. So many thoughts right now.

What upsets me about Square's conference is its all just floof. No real release dates or anything. Just hopes and dreams. They do it every year. I will consider Square Enix redeemed when the reviews come in.

There is salty, and there is intelligent recognition of a company not learning its lesson. I am not going to applaud them for vapor ware and promises. Promises mean nothing to me after the nightmares that were Final Fantasy X, X-2,XIII 1, 2, and 3.

Square Enix is not coming back. Are you guys watching the same thing I am? No release dates - no real game play - these games are no where NEAR finished. Same crap, different year. Then their "Giant Dev PC's" can't do much... trillions of throughput but this special "Streaming tech" can do more? Doubtful. From a Network Infrastructure perspective this whole thing stinks like dog crap. People are going to be infuriated when they get a look at their data bills if they have a provider with bandwidth caps.
