No it cant be quite as long as its running off a DVD and not off the Hard drive. The main reason the 360 is so loud is because the DVD drive spins at a much faster speed then the Blu-ray drive in the PS3.

Bohemia is a small independent company with around 30 employees, running on a small budget. And with a game like this its hard to find funding from a big publisher.

That battle scene was made in the map editor in about 10 minutes.
Owning both games I fail to see how Prototype pales in comparison to inFamous graphically.
If you put 50 cars and over 100 people on the screen at once with tanks and helicopters and explosions going off in inFamous, it would struggle along at 1 frame a second. Prototype pays for its ability to handle these scenes this with worse quality textures and lower polygon models, but that is the price of the scale of its mayhem.

The PS3 Blu-ray drive can only read and Spin blu-ray discs a 2x speed.
An Xbox 360 DVD drive spins dvds at 16x speed.
And because a PS2 had a older model DVD drive it could only spin them at 4x speeds. Hence why it is quiter then an 360 DVD drive.
