The thing about the "price structure" you mention is that you don't have ti buy the extra content. As much as you might not like it you don't have to buy it. The problem with the $100 price structure is you do have to shell that out from the get go, unless of course you wait for a sale.

I see what you did there :p. My question to you though is why does it matter that much? If a game is scripted and is amazing, a la uncharted, its a win for gamers. If a game is non scripted or close and us good, a la skyrim, its a win for gamers as well. So why does it matter this much that you've spent almost all your bubbles talking about it? And om asking in a purely non hostile way just curious is all.
Did you see more than one gameplay of watch dogs? Because without seeing more than one gameplay you have absolutely no way of knowing if the game is scripted. And no matter what a game will have scripted moments because of story. Skyrim is the closest thing I've seen to being completely non scripted. But even still it has its moments. So until they show more footage or you get your hands on it and you can see for yourself stop talking as if you know all about watch dogs.
I bet it will be better than the shit storm that was Ninja Gaiden 3. That was one of my favorite franchises and they destroyed it with 3. I know exactly where you're comming from and the only way you'll know is when it comes out or you get to play it for yourself. But I'm sure it'll be good even if it's not the same game you've played.

Im sure they will soon. Part of it is they really only have one studio. Now they will have another one in boston though that will have people from 38 studios in it. And people can fly as well but I think it also boils down to what's popular right now. I do agree though they have immense talent and should make something new. Bulletstorm was new and great but noone really bought it. Kind of sad.
Watch dogs, as much as I love how it looks, isn't next gen. It is in development for the 360 and ps3 and only looked that way cause it was run on a high end computer.
Even if it is $60 it will end up being a new game to others. It seems to me you fail to realize that not everyone has a 360 or PS3. Some people will be upgrading from a Wii to a Wii U and for them to be able to play Batman Arkham City is awesome.

I think the pre e3 video did a lot to prove how capable the wii u will be. Aside from the power of course which i know we're all waiting for. I just mean from a system stand point. They did something great by adding a classic like controller to be able to be used on their system. That alone appeased quit a few people. I don't think their under that much pressure. Besides nintendo pretty much just does what they want.
Never understood why people would be racist towards some of the biggest contributors to the video games we play. Its also sad too because all ive ever seen from any japanese game developer is respect. I mean last years e3 had kojima talking about MGR and because he didn't speak the greatest english he kept apologizing for it throughout his speech.
Yeah because you've somehow played it right? I get that you can get a sense of "gameplay" from the trailer to kind of know whether or not you'll like it, but just cause the trailer doesn't appeal to you doesn't mean it is going to be shit. Saying a game is shit before it even comes out is asinine.
It does actually have things to do with the MGS series, albeit a few. Mainly that it's set after MGS4 and it starts Raiden. However the only thing you got correct was that it is a spin off. Minus the trash part. Last time i checked there were other spinoffs as well namely Metal Gear Acid! And you know what they were actually really well done for being a different type of game.

The problem with taking risk are that no one, aside from you or me and some other people, will support the risk. People claim they want new different games and when something does come out no one supports it. Look at kingdoms. Yes I know it plays like other games but it is a new ip. And now the company is closed. Its a shame to see.

Edit: I don't think the always online was solely to stop piracy. I believe it was to be able to monitor hacks, bots, and of course for them to make a little more money with their auction house.
