Just did a little digging, here's how the other Layton games sold:
Layton 1: 48,000
Layton 2: 196,000
Layton 3: 179,000
Professor Layton performed well indeed. Though, if I'm remembering correctly, the other games in the series did better on their first days.
I put the Nintendo systems in bold since those are the products our main visitors care the most about. Basically want to make it easier to read for them. But no, it's not out of arrogance or hatred for other systems, believe me.
I don't know, that's possible, but Nintendo was mainly appealing to the older gamer with this iteration. But, the main change is the bigger screens.
There were actually a ton of review scores this week. A lot of games are coming out in Japan on Dec. 3.
I guess free is better than nothing.
Seems like sales of all games were down this week. Famitsu's estimates were off quite a bit, though. Tomodachi, HeartGold/SoulSilver, Wii Fit Plus, and a few others were in different positions.
Sounds like an odd idea to me.
I guess this is good news.
Other sales:
[WII] The Calling: Kuroki Chakushin (Hudson) - 2,300
[PSP] Jack & Daxter: Elf to Itachi no Daibouken (SCE) - 1,100
Doubt it sold 0, but Media Create will share their numbers tomorrow either way!
Don't know why, but Sinobi didn't post 360 numbers anywhere.
The only figure in there which isn't an estimate is the DSi LL sales, since we know that it sold that much in its first two days. Meanwhile, it looks like things are close between the PS3/Wii this week.
Wow, Tomodachi Collection has really been hanging in there.
LBP is fun to play.
Even with the surprises at the show, I'm keeping my expectations low for now. Lately I haven't been blown away by any surprises that were supposed to be real surprises! For now I'll just remain (very cautiously) optimistic.
I have a feeling that I'm going to like this game a lot, if not only for the nostalgia alone.
Nintendo franchises have always performed very well in the market. Metroid is the only series I can think of right now that doesn't usually have long legs (compared to Mario and Zelda).
Even though I have New Super Mario Bros., I would definitely make another purchase if the enhanced version were to be more challenging/had a few extras.
Wouldn't be surprised if it was Call of Duty or a Guitar Hero game.
