just last week I was reading someone's post on the 360 outselling the PS3 in america, and PS3 fans whined that that information was posted earlier in a previous post and said that it was old news.

Can you honestly say that sony say that they outsold last years black friday by 300% is a sneaky plow because they are banking on people not remembering that during last black friday the PS3 was not readily availble due to the launch. Everyone know that increased percentages of low numbers equal higher percentages. It's simple math.

I went back and re-read the Microsoft sells information interview for the black friday week. Here is what the article said "Microsoft said that it outsold Sony's PlayStation 3 2 to 1 last week, according to retail estimates."
The numbers MS quoted was with them saying "According to retail ESTIMATES". So, why has that been ignored and people are out crying as if MS said that this was a SOLIDIFIED fact. I really think people read and hear what they want to ...
Does some people on this site just press disagree because something negative is being said about their favorite console manufacturer. Because I see disagrees on this site sometimes, and there is just no logical reason for it.
If I think someone is right but I don't want to support them for whatever reason, I usually just move on to the next post. But, there a people hitting disagree around hear like we're keep score.

This is definitely the third news story posted today about this exact same thing. Or something very very closely related. If people are going to continue to approve things that are clearly duplicates or closely related to the point that they can be considered duplicated, Then we have a problem.
It's not just the approvers either, it also the contributors! This repeat crap really mucks up the site.
