Although you make a great point, you totally missed oohwii's point. Since he's buying this arcade 360 for his some to put in his bed room, he's pretty much decided that he wasn't getting live and wan't getting a hard drive. You speak as if these things are mandatory.
One could also argue that at least with the 360 controller you will only have to buy batteries as with the sixaxes controller you must replace the entire controller. 11.00 vs 50.00.

Sony probably won't lower the price of the PS3 but they probably counter 360 price with some type of sick (good sick) PS3 bundle. Like LBP and Dual Shock 160 gig bundle, or an 80 gig bundle with two controllers and two games.

I to see your point, but I disagree with it. Once again, Microsoft initially was completely funding the development of said game. Regardless to what they asked for, they were funding it at no cost to the developer. They then decided that they don't want it anymore. The developer had every opportunity to stop development at zero cost to them. Up to that point, it didn't cost them anything as for Microsoft was paying for it.

As a counter argument, using your own words "that is guaranteed to break now or later down the road." One could say the same thing about the PS3. Although it is not likely to break base on its past track record, it is a piece of electronic equipment and it is susceptible to break. The thing is, if you bought one of each and after 1 year they all broke on you, only your 360 would be repairable under warranty. For two more years.
