Yeah I notice that as well but when I look at these gamer's cards it is obvious what kind of gamer loves BO alot.
Most of the hardcore BO players I know only play shooters. I ask them if they tried Dead Space 2 or a game like Uncharted 2 and they just stare blankly.

3D did die down in the 90's but that was after huge popularity in the 80's it came back within a decade to again capture attention in a huge way. In 04 The Polar Express made 14 times as much in the cinemas showing the film in 3D than the 2D theatres.

I think you have to look at 3D as a whole. It has been around for over 50 years and it has improved drastically in that time. I really think it isn't a fad. Maybe an idea that has been poorly realised in the past but not a fad.

Yep, you really have to see them as personal opinions. I read alot of reviews and ask myself often what qualifies these people as reviewers? I seldom have an answer to that question. I hold more stock in word of mouth impressions that come from other gamers who share my tastes.

Having a favorite something is fine. Being happy that your favorite product sold well is fine. I only take issue with the way sales are used to justify a persons opinion. Sales are also used to downplay a persons opinion.
Again people who track these things week by week are the kind of people who I can't really relate to. Be it movies, TV, music, books or games. I enjoy these things because they give me entertainment. Sales? Well sales don't factor into my equasion...
