I think some people forget what the used market can provide concerning cost/performance.

If you can't afford a gaming PC or have the time and energy to build one, the consoles are great secondary choices for a plug and play experience, and typically provide excellent value for the hardware provided.

Taken advantage of for 2-3 years? This is a second generation card. It's already being taken advantage and additional driver features are coming to it, 2K and 1K series. Wouldn't the PS5 and Xbox be the tech which are going to not have fully optimized games as the architecture is so new? You might have it backwards, but hey we all have to justify our purchases?

Anywho, nVidia seemed to place nVLink on the 3090 series to not have the lower cards match or exceed the h...

Absolutely, back to their roots. Going to hold off playing until the RTX 3080 is delivered.

Well, we want good exclusive games released on PC. We should not all buy a PS5 as I wish to build my own hardware. Maybe Sony should come up with an OS for x86 or a store front on PC. I don't like being locked into eco systems and enjoy the openness of the PC universe. You are exposed to so many different perspectives and not limited to a singular console bias. Look what happened to PlayStation, their console sold high numbers and people automatically equate that to the best game titles, ...

Lol no. You don't know who CD Project Red is? The PC version of any game nearly always looks better than what's released on console. But I guess we need to believe? If I squint hard enough the PS5 graphics will look better than the RTX 3090.

Agreed. You'll see the opposite as well. It is a matter of perspective.

Hey Apocalypse, I think it's more of a joke than being serious. PC unifying gaming is a great thing and we should support the expansion of games to as many platforms as possible to allow exposure to us, the user, the gamer.

I would love to play Zelda on the big screen connected to a PC. Maybe we need to hit up Furukawa on Twitter.

These look incredible. Lighting/shading has come such a long way from Pong.

And PS5, and every other console. Are you going PC now?

Rimeskeem makes a good point but I think he was misunderstood. There are plenty of reasons why consoles are beneficial and would be chosen over a PC. Price, ease of use - plug and play, lack of maintenance, size, portability, though a lot of these have been handled fairly well by PC.

If you are older and have moved on from PC for whatever reason you fall into his second category.

The article indicates we will have more devs working on the same tech and ha...

There are many who also use Ultra Wide Screen monitors. These cards would benefit those users as well.

Nvidia's RTX 3090 isn't more expensive... it's much more expensive.

$499
$1499

You can still collect games, you'll just be able to store them in a hard drive instead of a cabinet.

Guess you stopped listening to music too. Stop using money when it goes digital. Stop watching movies when it goes digital. Stop ordering products when e commerce is digital. Stop writing on forums that are digital. Stop going to the doctor when they use digital equipment. Just stop using tech all together.

The world is going to be virtual eventually.

Sony already claimed they will look at more 1st party moving to PC to increase profit. Win-win for everyone.

RTX IO and Microsoft DirectStorage eliminated any lead PS5 had with SSD secret sauce. 4K 120 fps, 8K 60 fps here we go!!!

Sony, keep releasing in PC and I will buy your titles.

I believe the Xbox is there is provide an alternative to non PC gamers. If you have a PC then you can play on Windows. So MS doesn't need to target PC owners with the Xbox.

8K 60 fps appeared to be a target for the 3090.
