007 is very tangentially linked though. MGS has become a twisted timeline of direct sequels and prequels.
If Keifer was voicing Snake in a whole new timeline, I'd be fine with it. Personally I think MGS needs a new timeline regardless... we know how it ends with MGS4, these prequels are a bit useless now.
I think part of it is the apparent shift in support/ideology surrounding indie titles though, not just exclusivity.
Calling it now, year long deals at most.
Makes sense. Someone's gotta run Outer Heaven.
"I have a gut feeling Kojima will announce MGS4 for xbox one"
Why? It's become this unicorn more for fans than the publisher.
Ah but then the vicious circle starts - publishers putting more money into the marketing of a game than the dev budget is part of what got us here in the first place.
Developers need to use more middleware and increase efficiency.
Publishers need to put their expectations in check and stop expecting to sell 10 million copies on every game.
Gamers need to actually support titles that aren't GTA, Madden, or COD.
Used games isn't the problem.
Dont know why you're getting disagrees Naroon, as you're 100% right.
200 people is bloated? ND has over 240 employees. Even worse, look at the 600 people working on JUST Resident Evil 6 or the multiple teams they pulled in to make AC3.
That's a bit of a lie. To be honest, no one cared about Overstrike either. Once Fuse was shown, it was only THEN that internet warriors came out in defense of the original game and said "they were always interested."
Whoah, careful there with the logic son!
On one hand, its unfortunate that despite the age of the average gamer being 34, and that over 61% of the population games, gaming itself still has this negative stigma about it. It's a bit silly and backwater.
On the other hand, you're right, **** this guy. Pundits are the worst and the world would be better off without them.
Great point Hicken. I'd really love to see some kind of study done to see if your buying style is the majority, not knowing actual trends is what I meant by gray area. A used copy isn't necessarily a guarantee of a sequel buy, then again it isn't necessarily a guarantee of a lost sale either.
I guess I just miss $50 games!
It's all one big gray area. Used games are good for gamers, but bad for developers. Other industries allow used stuff, but gaming is slightly different.
Developers need to change their production model, publishers need to check their wild expectations, and gamers need to actually, you know, support the titles they love talking about.
Giggle. Ok ms, you need a nap. This is sony pre-ps3 levels of hubris now.
I'd love to see some new IPs, maybe some platformers like Jak. A Demon's Souls 2 would make my day. Some JRPGs would be nice as well.
I heard the same from the TSA with their full body screeners. If someone can abuse something, it will be abused.
I think there's a very real chance data will be collected whether you like it or not on both consoles. Did you know trophies and achievements were used in such a way?
I'm tempted to go retro the more I hear about next gen.
Please no more prequels or interquels. We know how this all ends. It's time for a sequel, or better yet, a fresh start with a new timeline and no baggage.
"They said the game isn't possible on any local hardware on any console platform now or next gen. "
JUST like SimCity... right?
Also for a game "not possible now," why is there are 360 version?
