This game might be a mess, I don't really know, but at this point I'm going to assume everything is being blown out of proportion by the gaming community and that in reality it's not that big of a deal.
People lost their damn minds over Shadow of War and those Microtransactions were pointless. They would barely even help you speed things up, much less be "required" to finish the game like everyone tried to say.

Maybe it's just me but I automatically dislike anyone that has to tell me the specs on their PC in an article about consoles.

Shadow of War and AC Origins are single player games, and they only thing you can do by buying stuff in those games is speed up your own progression, essentially you're paying to not play the whole game.
This game is multiplayer, and the people that spend money will have a definite advantage over the people that don't. Hence people calling it "Pay to Win".
That is why people are being harder on this game. In this game the MT's hurt...

You say that the weapons break quick, but it's ok because you find a lot of weapons and you can easily find one to replace it.
Well that seems balanced wrong to me. Why do they have to break at all, if you are always going to have a replacement?
So maybe the problem isn't being left without a good weapon to use, the problem is a ton of time spent doing inventory managem...
Shadow of War's lootboxes are completely irrelevant to gameplay progression.
You don't need them, there is never any incentive to buy them, they might as well not exist. Unless you are trying to speed run the game or something, I'm not sure how they would even help you.
And somebody mentioned AC Origins? Since when does it have lootboxes? I know it has some kind of time saver useless crap you can buy with real money, but again, who would do...
I've not played BOTW, I just want to put that out there first, so I'm not going to say it is good or bad, because I don't have any experience with it.
What I do know, is that I wanted to play it, until I read about how quick the weapons break, and now I don't want to play it anymore.
