Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't possibly care less about Indie games.
Not saying they aren't ever good, or that I'd never ever play them, but I surely wouldn't miss them either.
This article is hilarious. True Sony Fanboyism at it's finest.
They take the fact their online service is awful, and spin it into a PLUS by saying it couldn't handle an unwanted thing like an always-on connection.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'd rather have an online service that works reliably.
I should really just give up trying to talk sense into the people on this website.
If you guys have really followed this all so closely to know what they have and haven't said about fees, you should have also caught the part where they retracted some of the comments and said that they HAD NO OFFICIAL WORD ON HOW IT WAS GOING TO WORK AT THIS POINT.
So yes, I know you Sony Fanbabies want to spread everything negative thing about the Xbox as gospel, but that...
@Sono
I hope you go to prison.
People like you are a drain on society.
I'm sorry that a company like MS isn't catering their product explicitly to your tastes, but you need to realize that you can't always get what you want, and just because they aren't offering something just for you doesn't give you the right to steal from them in order to exact your revenge.
Listen, we get it. Some of you guys are ...
My god, could you guys possibly take this a little more literally and be a bit more negative, please?
Can't we all just get along and look for the best in everything instead of automatically assuming the worst?*
*unless its a Sony product of course, then it is automatically perfect.
~facepalm~
You're not wrong, ps+ can eliminate a lot of these wait times, no doubt.
The problem comes when you've never played a game before, so ps+ doesn't download patches for it in advance.
Like my previous example. I played LBP2 for the first time ever the past weekend. I'm a new plus subscriber (based on all the rave reviews I've read about it on this site, mostly), and I'd played the original LBP, but never bothered with the sequel.
Wow... Amazing... You said something a tiny bit negative about the PS3 and got 60+ disagrees for it. Go figure... ~eyeroll~
Anyway, you are 100% correct. I'm glad to see somebody else has noticed how terrible the PS3 is with patches, and just with download speed in general.
I played LBP2 for the first time over the weekend, and it took about 40 minutes until the patches were all completed. The longest update I think I've ever had for a 360 g...
I've played both and I don't know what you mean.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that has noticed this.
I am so sick of this no name indie dev getting headlines. He made one shit game that somehow got good reviews, and now everyone fawns over his every word.
I don't even care if he is right or wrong, he needs to learn to shut his mouth.
Sideras, that was uncalled for. Not only was it an immature personal attack directed at me, it was also completely baseless.
I wasn't defending MS or agreeing with them in any way, just expressing confusion over the outrage about something that will likely have little to no effect on most people here.
I'm sorry you misunderstood my intentions.
My point is, though, we don't know for sure how any of this will work.
Lending games, for instance. I don't really believe that they are going to make somebody pay for the whole game (or even a fee) to borrow a game from your buddy.
But, since everything is installing and you don't need the disc to play, they need to have a way for it to invalidate your copy of the game, so you can't loan it to somebody and then you can both play it at once. ...
I really fail to see how this is such a HUGE deal to everyone.
I get that some people can't get internet at all, and I have no idea how this will affect them, but for everyone else, what difference does it make?
Do you unplug your 360 from the internet for days at a time now? If so, why? If not, then why would you start doing it with the XB1?
I get that people don't like feeling like they are having something "taken away" ...
Do people actually stand their consoles vertically??
Ever since the PS2 started that trend I've never understood it. 99% of shelves in entertainment centers or TV stands wouldn't allow it to stand vertically anyway.
I've just never understood the appeal.
Not to mention I always heard it was harder on the disc drive to spin the disc that way than if it is horizontal. Not sure if that is true or not, though.
Took the words right out of my mouth.
The thing doesn't even look that big to me, I don't know what all the fuss is about.
I think it is about the size of the original fat PS3.
Not to mention, who gives a damn how big it is? I'm going to put it in my entertainment center and never ever move it once.
LOL, well thank you. But I pretty much get disagrees for every single post I make.
I'm not a Sony Fanboy, so it's to be expected. This IS N4G after all.
Aren't these just stills from the Trailer at the reveal?
I'm not knocking them, don't get me wrong.
I love inFAMOUS and can't wait for this game.
You guys realize that it costs Microsoft money to buy and run the thousands of servers that power Xbox Live, right? (They also have to pay a bunch of people to maintain them.)
I mean, we aren't just connecting straight to the wide open internet with our Xboxes, we are connecting to a closed system that they control (and pay for).
I realize Sony offers their service for free, but I also know from experience that the quality of their online service is year...
Please read my whole message before you disagree. lol
I'm a huge Xbox fan. I own both consoles, but I buy everything on Xbox except for exclusives. I love Xbox Live, all of my friends are Xboxers, I think the controller is better, everything...
To give you an idea of how much I favored the 360... I recently used a smartphone app to scan bar codes and create a catalog of my 360 and PS3 games. I have 22 PS3 games, and 179 360 games. lol
This is getting crazy... Have any of the "leaked" review scores NOT been perfect scores???
O_O
I'm freakin out.
