I'm 46 and game just as much now as I did in my 20's. Only difference is my taste in games has changed.
In my 20's I only liked FPS (Basically Dud Bro games today). Now I like single player story driven games and games with more atmosphere like Alien Isolation and DOOM. So still some FPS's but not the multiplayer stuff as I don't have the time to invest to get good enough to compete.
Since we don't know anything about either, I will say the one with the better hardware will be more powerful. Seems logical to assume.
I had friends come over every night and we would play until 4 or 5AM - 5 nights a week for months!
The greatest memory I have of my 3DO! It was one of the first games (that I knew of) to use licensed soundtracks and introduced me to White Zombie! I hear that album today and I am instantly transformed back to 1994.

Just imagine what they would sell to a user base of 60 million instead of 12 million - even if only 10 - 20% of that user base bought Nintendo games.

Really - you know me and my preferences to make that statement? I own 3 Wiis a Wii U and both a PS4 and a XB1! I enjoy all types of game experiences from Mario to Uncharted, Donkey Kong to Halo. I've been gaming since 1978 so I have no preference of one company over the other.
Until the big N releases their IP on PS4/XBone they are doomed to tread the line of irrelevance.
Agreed completely. Welcome to the new world of gaming. I always thought the 5-6 years cycle was too slow. 3-4 years is better. I want bigger and better experiences more frequently.

Because I don't want to play with touch controls and I sure as hell don't want to go from a Large screen TV and surround sound to a 4-6 inch screen. Oh and Sony exclusives are not on phone anyway - got it, good!

I meant to convey what you are saying - PC gaming is not just any easy switch.
Console only Gamers would be shocked that everything is not just turn system on and play. Optimal PC gaming takes work for maximum performance.
For some yes ... for others not so much. Just like anything else in life.
You could still take advantage of 60FPS in 1080P I would guess. The 4K is likely video and streaming only.
I hope this is true. This is no different than buying a new video card for my PC every few years for $300 - $400.
I know this is a foreign concept to console only Gamers but this just seems like the next logical step in the console space - especially since they are x86 architecture. I'm not surprised by it either and I welcome it. If I can play existing games and 60 FPS bring it on.

Well said ... and I don't remember Sony saying the console will last 5 years or more. In fact, I remember both MS and Sony saying this console cycle will likely be shorter.

I agree. I too am dissatisfied with the hardware specs of the current PS4 and welcome a higher spec model. It will be 3 years on if the new spec model drops in the fall and since I paid $399 for a launch system I have got my $10-12/month use out of it. I want something better (Yes I have a high spec PC too).
