You forget that there are other problems on the 360 also that the 3 years warranty does not cover. Will you be willing to pay after the 3 years warranty is over and get a RROD because the chances of getting RROD after the 3 years warranty is still higher than the chance of getting a problem on the PS3 within its 3 year.

There is a few problems with your argument. The problem with the PS2 was not as high as 360 and Sony fixed up the problem with the PS2 not long (6 months~) after the problem appear. The 360 is in its 3rd going to 4th year and RROD still exist at a pretty high rate.

It's less than 3%. The standard failure rate is 6-7%. The chances of YLOD is pretty low since failure rate include maybe laser failures, bluetooth, etc. Therefore, YLOD is probably around 1%. So, you have to be pretty damn unlucky.

HHG needs to control his staff from writing ridiculous articles. So, yes, he is ruining game journalism indirectly. But I also don't think HHG is the only one ruining indie game journalism.

Well said. Bubbles for you.

I game to live a fantasy, to see imagination coming to life. I often imagine for fun and dream the wildest dreams but sometimes it's also fun to live someone's else dream. It's like experience a new point of view. There is a lot to learn when you can experience new views or find new ideas.

I also live life because I also have dreams and goals, I wish to achieve. These tends to be the more realistic but since I still have my inner child ali...

Shhhh... they might start thinking it's okay to charge. Oh wait, that's Xbox Live.

Then they shouldn't pass it off as new. The moment a car leaves the factory, the value is depreciating. The moment the wrap comes off a game, the value is depreciating. If I buy a game that's wrap, the value of the game is worth more than the one that is unwrapped.

What if I bought the game and I decided not open it but the game can still be sold off as new for a much better price than a game I did not play but unwrapped.

I bought my Valkyria Chronicles unwrapped eve...

Not even sure how Nielsen comes up with these statistic. It just all seem off. How in the world are they reallly measuring console usage? Another thing is that survey, most people lie or just pick some random answer that they think most people will pick out of lazyness. I do that sometimes on survey.

Is that the level with the giant tank? I don't have my game up in college, but if it's the level with the giant tank, use the tank as a shield.

Agreed, there is a lot of room for a story about Welkin's father and that old gentleman.

It looks like a disagree fairy is loose.

I bet those otaku sucked up their pride to purchase a 360 even though fellow gamers told them otherwise. After discovering to be wrong about their purchase, the lost of security caused them to snap.

This is why I refuse to purchase DLC unless they truly add value or it feels more on the level of expansion pack. Fight them by not purchasing rip off.

I believe you misunderstood your professor. Yes, I've learned that nothing is free in the overall picture. For example, Home, free for PS3 owners but cost publisher money to put up their space which covers the cost for PS3 owners. The publishers hope that in return, it will boost sales for their games.

Right on, I grew up with PC gaming and migrated to console gaming. I hate DLC so much. The only DLC I ever purchase was CoD4 map pack and MGS LBP level pack. I'm satisfy with the LBP DLC but I hate my CoD4 map pack purchase so much. PC gets it for free.

I already say no to many of these DLC by not purchasing even for most I'm really tempted to. For example, Disgaea 3, as much as I would love to buy those characters, I refuse because they cost money when they should be free.
