I think GameStop were trying some sort of Marketing strategy, it goes something like this -

1) Consumers are waiting for the new model PS3 which launches on September 1st
2) Stocks of the existing model are starting to become quite low in the US - indeed the entire reason for the price cut is to get rid of the last of the stock to make way for the new model.

Actually Wii stole Sony's tech. Just like how Sony remade the controller (PS1) they'll remake Motion controls as well.

I don't know about N4G but for the past few days I've been checking out all these forums on different sites about the PS3 Slim and surprising as it may seem about 90% of the people on every forum I checked really like the new design and I'm also one of them.
The new look is something you have to get used to before you actually start liking it and seeing it in person (according to most sites who have unboxings) is a whole different thing.
Motion controllers 1:1 precision, BlueRay, £249.99, Games developed by well known devs such as ND, Insomniac, PD ect, New PS3 design being more energy efficient and so much more.
All this will surely win over many parents and teens and both the Wii and 360 will be in a struggle to survive. Sony had this planned since 07.
I know I'm known for being a PS3 fanboy but as long as the game runs at a solid smooth 30FPS then I see nothing wrong with it.

OFF topic. I just checked the Wii bundles on GAME and they're literally ripping people off. The Wii is worth about £90 max and that's it! not flippin £200. The PS3 comes with much much! better hardware and it's only £50 more and it even has better quality and more value.
Oh I can't wait until the Slim releases it'll catch up to that crap piece of last gen tech in a heart beat.

JOLLY1 Kaz said in an interview that the build running at GamesCom was a demo just put there to see the public's reaction of having damage in GT5 and that the final build is yet to be seen. Hence why it wasn't announced during Sony's conference because it wasn't the final game.
SD video cams recording HD videos always make the picture being displayed on the HDTV look really good for some odd reason. I've notice it with many games.

Why did he factor in Games? Every console depends on purchasing content so these figures are not that substantial. Also notice how the PS3 removes the need of having to purchase a WiFi Adaptor which will save $100... Its inbuilt features are a head of its time :D
This is talking about Sony as a whole and not just the PlayStation department. Besides the New PS3 hasn't even launched yet and the demand for theNew PS3 is so high that it makes this article pointless because we all know what will happen to this loss once the New PS3 launches.
The loss will no longer effect them as much as it is now, it will becom a minor loss.
