This looks like a FW fix because after all the slim comes out the day a new FW is released.
Sony might even add a the PS3 logo when you boot up games in the 3.0 update because maybe Sony are still working a on a proper boot up logo but didn't have the time to implement it inside the Slim PS3's.
And remember everyone's PS3 logo and XMB changes on the 1st of September so Sony might as well add the game boot up logo they've obviously been working on (^_<)

4 to 1 meaning the 360 sold about 10 units since we all know how bad the 360's doing in Japan and the PS3 being out of stock is obviously not going to sell well IF IT'S OUT OF FLIPPIN STOCK.
Remember Sony said that they're no longer shipping any 80GB PS3's to Japan because the Slim is launching on the 1st of September. Currently there isn't even any PS3's in stock in most of the stores in Japan.

For a few days I was going through a lot of forums about the new PS3 Slim and it looks like a lot of the first time buyers of the PS3 Slim don't even care about playing PS2 games but are more interested in playing upcoming PS3 games.
So taking PS2 B.C out of the PS3 in a way is also being used to make people move forwards to the PS3 and not still be stuck in the PS2 era.
Sony will most likely launch a PS2 section on the PSN either next year or the year after.
It's actually a good thing that Sony ditched PS2 B.C because al lot of people were still stuck in the PS2 era and wouldn't want to move forward but Sony want people to move forward.
