I don't think 2014 was really that bad...
I had plenty of fun with Alien Isolation, South Park, Shovel Knight and Divinity Original Sin.
I always wait until all of the episodes are out before I start playing. It sucks to play one episode, then have to wait couple of months for next. Ruins the immersion.

Everyone knows that if you go console route, you limit yourself with no freedom(No optimization, forced online pay, no mods, forced controller(which sucks for FPS)).
And PC offers way more than gaming anyway. You can use it for education, social media or working.

PC is not THAT expensive... and you need a PC anyway pretty much, so why not invest in gaming rig. Think about it, how much of your time do you spend on PC. If you can't justify forking out for something you spend plenty of time on, then what the hell is wrong with you.

Pillars of Eternity holds the crown for now, but Witcher 3 is going to take that crown and keep it for the rest of the year. As I said before... other games look like school projects compared to Witcher 3.
I'm going to spend £299 on GTX 970, with Witcher 3 included instead :)
