Sure, there's no NEED for a 4k screen.. But have you ever actually played games at 4k before? To answer that question myself, you simply wouldn't say that if you had.

Not sure if you're talking about 4k or 8k here.
I have 2x R9 295x2's and although they smash 4k resolution, no chance they would put up much of a fight at 8k, especially with only 4gb vram (per gpu).
There is currently NO cards that would handle 8k, well at least not without turning every single setting to the absolute lowest.. but lets be honest here, who the f*** wants to do that! haha

As a long time nvidia user I recently decided to go AMD for a change. R9 295x2 quadfire. Still yet to be beaten in terms of 4k performance IMO
Edit: in fact, not only my opinion, it actually beats Titan Z 4-way in almost all scenarios
I'm still awaiting my r9 295x2 quadfire build. (Hopefully) it should kill this @ 4k maxed out.

Currently pretty average at best to be honest. As an ex-ultra high end pc gamer, so far nothing has struck me as "next gen". I do have faith though, soon enough I KNOW ps4 first party devs will blow our minds again with something truly amazing :)
Yeah I had a feeling we wouldn't see Uncharted ps4 until probably 2015 q2.. But if we can at least secure two big exclusives this year, I'll be happy. We already have Infamous, here's to hoping we get The Order by q4 this year! :)

Well to be more specific, it really depends what res you are gaming at. I've got 2x r9 295x2 for 4k and can tell you first hand they are currently the best cards on the market for driving 4k hands down.. Especially after the latest driver. The main problem isn't with amd or nvidia (which btw I'm not a fanboy, I love both) it's the software developers more often than not.
Side note though, all this nvidia exclusive stuff is getting me a little...
