dlc should be really like getting a new game or a spin off game like gta4 stories or undead nightmare Read dead redemption no small level add ons or weapons or a few maps or an in game outfit.
not a good sign if your next gen system is less powerful than competitors current gen system.

"Dead consoles" is only a label from the media. Its only natural that companys move on to a new generation for income stream and technology advancement.
i could see portable gaming ruling the world with the option to connect the gaming device to a big screen and use a regular controller.
the only reason i can see not including backward compatibility is greed. I just got the feeling sony took the ps2 backward compatibility off the ps3 so people will spend money on downloads and HD versions of ps2 games they already owned.
these packages should be bigger like the size of the sega genesis collection or the games should be DLC only , I feel so ripped off buying 2 old games (even if great games on a disc for $40). The HD improvement and trophy support is only a sidenote. There should be a retro section in the online store and leave it at that. Any 10+ year old games should never cost over $10.
this DLC better Be FREE! or else the fan backlash will be so bad they wont buy product from the company in the future.
after the sega genesis collection with 30 or so games for $20 every other sega retro compilation just seems disappointing
for me ninja gaiden 1 and 2 were so hard turned alot of people off ninja gaiden 3 has just the right level of challenge for average gamers
sorry but a story and gameplay as great as mass effect series to have a shitty ending ( one of the worst in gaming history) is a slap in the face
if apple released an iphone or ipad with pull out tactile controls and had great fully featured console style games than they may be able to compete until than I will just laugh at them

alot of the "challenge" came from a lack of ability to save the games. In the NES days battery saving backups were brand new. Some games had passwords most games you had to play through in one sitting. If you shut the console off you had to start the game over. If there was save points or autosaves in many NES they wouldnt seem as challenging
dlc should only be for major game add ons not the little on disc ones grand theft auto 4 was a great example of this
nintendo has got to remember the more ram the more game will be sold. I have held back on the amount of digital games bought because of the amount of available storage space.
