From my point of view, they kinda are? Alot of people know Dark Souls and its notorious difficulty. AFAIK the games have even sold decently so it wouldnt be too far to say that they are mainstream, maybe "selective mainstream"

Thats would obviously be more direct sequel than the already existing sequel, Ico.

It just doesnt fit... It seems that their idea of "continuing the series" means adding more lore to the Ico/SotC/TLG universe via new games. Revisiting previously shown games/areas would be almost unholy.

Besides, how can they even add to the first SotC? Idols were destroyed, the land was "cleansed" and the enter/exit was destroyed. We know something happen...

The really good thing (for me) that this "suspend/resume" is going to do is allow me to set the automated standby mode to start automaticly at earlier than currently (3 hours)

I have been in situations where I have had to suddenly go somewhere (like to the store) and on my way back I decide to visit a friend.

During that time the console's sitting there alone consuming power (paused) and set to go to standby mode after around 2 hours.

This is so stupid...

Besides they already have Origin as a DRM (?), why this extra layer?

I think that a complete remake/overhaul would work nicely but a sequel? Hell no.

SotC could already be considered a prequel to Ico (but the stories are like, at least a 1000 years apart. They are only in the same universe) and The Last Guardian is probably going to fit there somewhere. I think that there shouldnt be any direct sequels in the mix. I just want a perfect "trilogy"

@People

I still moderately enjoyed Twinsanity. Could have been pretty awesome if it was not rushed, but actually finished game (they cut like... half of the game and it lacked some polish)

I think the console turning is somehow related to the early models having kind of a design flaw in how the laser was possitioned inside the console.

After enough use, the PSU (whch was built in) would end up heating enough to cause the plastics of the reading laser part to melt/soften which would render the machine unable to read the discs anymore. I think that when you flipped the console, the laser would get closer to the discs and become able to read them again.

Trolls would literally have no power if nobody gave a cr2p.

For me two of the more memorable intros were in Spyro 2 and Tombi 2. Great music and atmosphere for great introduction.

I dont really look at the epicness or greatness of the intro. I think setting the mood is extremely important (which doesnt count epic intros out, remember that)

I play my consoles and PC using the same 24" computer monitor so I can see detail pretty well.

On a personal side note... I cant play games that well when sitting on a couch... Cant concentrate and see things as well as with my more traditional "computer desk" setup.

Also to add even more to the "can/t see" debate, my eye has lately become very sensitive to screen tearing. Not that I cant stand it, I just see it very often.

Honestly I had completely forgoten this game, partly due to the very small HDD space my console has left... I remember not being able to download Dust 514.

Didnt buy this when it first came out as a digital only game :/ I never buy new games digitaly and sadly the physical copies were delayed by a month. Theres quite a few upcoming games so I dont have time and money for DL as of now.

Good thing that theres never new game release mid-year. Probably going to pick DL then.

Though you need to remember that about 7 years has passed since the Vegas games which were the latest in series. Very rarely a follow up gam after that many years is going to look or play like the previous games. I think it was even said that this game was sort of a reboot (not really since Rs series has always changed but still...)

Looking good, there were few things that I didnt exactly like (hitmarkers and ammo pool instead of individual mags, though I dont really mind the markers)

I have never been into RS online portion so Im still waiting for some terrorist hunt gameplay (they must have it, right? It has been in every RS game)

Also really digging the sounds.

When I say backwards compatibility I mean at least PS1 emulation. PS2 emulation might be too unrealistic at this point (considering the PS4 CPU doesnt have much power per core which is what the emulator on PC absolutely requires for smooth experience) unless they turbo boost one core.

I would never expect PS3 BC, software nor hardware wise. HW compatibility would probably be more realistic but expensive as fk.

FFS, sony used PS1 emulation on PS2, PS3, PSP an...

Im really betting my money on either, new Jak game or new Ape Escape (considering the somewhat recent activity between shuhei yoshida and the original dev team behind AE)

Also:
"Like many other Sony classic franchises mentioned in this feature, enough time has passed where a reboot/revamp of the franchise can be introduced to a brand new generation of young gamers, as well as its older nostalgic fanbase."

Exactly what should be done. Theres ...

"following the criminal mediocrity of the previous titles Ultimate Tenka’ichi and Battle of the Z"

is how it should read after those bad games...

Also, Xenoverse is good but not completely my type of game with pretty heavy focus on RPG type gameplay. I would like to see even better combat (though currently its okay) and lets say... completely open world world hub and large stages.

some of the character animations feel rather stiff (...

I would potentially buy it.

The first one remastered on old gen consoles was pretty interesting as it wasnt really that bad looking (considering it was once said that consoles could not handle the first crysis to begin with) but with better draw distance and more foliage, it would make for an interesting comparision between original PC and Remaster versions due to different engines being used.

Crysis games arent outstanding to me but theres just something abo...
