Who would have thought friendship was such a strong weapon?

I guess SE found out that selling the ending to your (STORY DRIVEN GAME) game only further damages sales. I honestly liked ff13-2 only because it was a good upgrade. Serah and Noel were much more likable than the most of the cast from the prior game too. I absolutely hated Snow and Hope with a passion.

I'm not looking forward to this game though. If they are going to focus on only Lightning with no other party members joining your party, then why even make it a turn base...

I liked 13-2 a lot, except for the part where they sold off essential parts of the story as DLC. I'm sure square will stick to their guns and sell us the "REAL" ending for 13-3 eventually.

on topic, the trailer did make the game look choppy. I really don't like Lightning new armor. It's just plain ugly. Where as the 13-2 armor looked elegant, this one looks just plain bad and impractical...even for FF standards.

Still going to try this...

This game was mediocre and failed to actually celebrate the history of Playstation like what Smash bros melee and brawl did. The concept of all these characters coming together was just very poor. The rival cutscenes were cool, but they should've done a lot more with it. The final boss being something barely anyone remembers? Why not use a remixed-boss (like giga bowser for example) from another game?

The levels, IMO, were just alright. My favorite being the Uncharted/Bi...

Xenoblade is one of those games not a lot of the public played. It should've easily won best wii game on the insulting spike VGAs at the very least. But Nope! That half-assed mario wii-u game beat it out.

I really liked the voice acting too. The all European cast made the game that more different. Very few times have I run into a game with real British/English accents and I do wish other games use more legit-brit people in their voice work.

It's main...

Jump has an entire backlog of amazing characters and this list is only one piece, Bleach, Naruto and DBZ?

"but just a few characters from those series were revealed Tux!"

If this is a console cross over Jump game, it just has to be inline with the Jump All-stars DS game. Meaning it needs a diverse cast of characters from the many years of Jump mangas/Magazines. I'd hope it's more like smash bros, where it celebrates the many years of jump....

Retro Studio didn't out-Nintendo Nintendo, it turned further westernized Metroid into an FPS all while keeping it's Nintendo charm. The made it so it appeals to western gamers. I thought the first game was dead boring, but the other ones were pretty good (except for the 3's final boss battle).

I still wonder why people complain about Metroid: Other M. Prime too had pretty awkward controls when it first came out. Other M also tried to give Samus more of a personali...

I think he means that there's no real death tension in the game. The lower your HP, the more options the other person has to kill you. Smash bros and every other fighting game with a damage indicator have this risk factor.

With PSASBR, you can get hit with an entire combo, but as long as the final hit (the special attack) misses, you're good. As long as your not tagged with the special attack, you're good. With any other game, any attack has a higher chance of kil...

That's a short review. At least this one gave the game a balanced review score.

IMO, them just ripping characters straight out of the game and not touching them up in some way is a little lazy. It's possible to touch up a character and still have the character true to their games. Why wasn't Toon link cell-shaded in Brawl? Because the shadings didn't match with everyone else.

The things that didn't mesh well, IMO, were the characters (art direction and decisions particularly), the game play, and the weak other modes available.

Both Mortal Kombat (9) and DCvsMK had a very good story mode. Soul Blade up to Soul Calibur 3 had a pretty good story mode too. Even Brawl had somewhat of a story/adventure mode. IIRC, didn't Blazblue and Persona Arena have a story mode too?

I never said anything about watering down, just touch up the characters to make them seem more unified in the game itself. They could've put a lot more detail into Sly and Spike for example. Parapa is a lot like Game and watch, so...

They have a lot more in common, IMO. At their base, they're both party/fight games, they both have a unique gimmick that is different from traditional fighting games, they both support 4 players, and they both have a diverse cast.

Both games have combos. Watch a smash bros tourney match (especially ones from the Melee era) and you'll see how ridiculous smash bros matches can get. PSAS has combos and juggling, but they're more or less easy access combos. PSAS teach...

From the looks of this review, I honestly don't think this guy played the entire game thoroughly. I had good reaction to the game the first time I played it, but the second time I played it, I started to notice the flaws and things that just didn't mesh well as a whole. The second play through and beyond made me realize how much I hate the combat system of killing your enemy with a special move.

This game is good, but to say it's a 5/5 is really too much. A believ...

I played a little bit of PSAS and I just didn't like it. I played a lot of smash bros and went in trying my best not to compare it to smash at all. The controls were more like TVC/MVC3, except it didn't feel that the controls meant anything. I didn't feel like it had a light/medium/heavy attacks. Controls are something that the player has to get used to I guess, but related to that was the actual feel of the hits.

When you hit someone in say DOA or Smash bros, you...

I'd love to see more japanese games in general be released on the wii-u, but looking back at how long it took Nintendo to release The Last Story and Xenoblade,I doubt we'll see a huge up rise of japanese games on the platform (or have any releases in the U.S.).

The wii had some great games, from No more Heroes to TvC. Metroid: Other M was a great game too. When it comes to games, it's mostly due to western tastes. This generation was the FPS/realistic/western dom...

Thank you, video games, for keeping me away from drugs and and gangs and for helping me make friends at school. I'm serious about it though. Without videogames, I'd probably be doing stupid things and wouldn't have had a great childhood.

After the last couple of GOTY shows, I gave up. Most of the games nominated were good, but predictable. Though Journey and The Walking Dead are on the list, the list was still a little disappointing. Dishonored was just plain dull, IMO, and wasn't there a whole issue with Mass Effect 3's ending?

A lot of people praised games like Xenoblade and The Last Story, yet it didn't make it for GOTY? That's probably my biggest disappointment and just more evidence of We...

Games with DLC are released and sold with 90% or less content accessible to the consumer. DLC was a good idea on paper, but when you have companies SELLING THE REAL ENDING TO A GAME (Asura's Wrath, FF13-2), then it's just sheer bullcrap.

DLC is made alongside the the whole game, so the extra costumes and guns you "download" are technically already on the disc. If it wasn't in the game's code in any way...other players wouldn't be able to see it. ...

Why didn't they just port the Mass effect Collection to the Wii-u too? The whole point of Mass Effect was that it's a 3 game adventure, wasn't it?
