Dreamcast! The Last system I can really call my favorite. Why? Power stone, MVC2, Sonic adventure 1-2, Crazy Taxi...The games were amazing and it was the last Christmas console I ever got as a kid. Every system since then was bought with my own money. Thank you Sega Dreamcast, for that amazing Xmas morning.
SR3 was a legit fun game. It was one of the very few games that got my non-gamer friends hooked. I guess it was because it was so over the top, cartoony, and had character creation.
Being too serious all the time is just not fun, IMO. If I want a serious story sandbox game, I'll go to GTA.
for SR4, I do hope they keep the over-the-top stuff. They can tone it down a little to please the other fans, but I just hope they don't make it too similar to GT...
I'd say it is Xenoblade 2. The character at the end looks way too similar to Shulk. The sword animations and battle system bar are the same too. I guess the only major thing is that red X. That's the symbol most associated with Xenogears, but even Xenoblade 1 had that X, so yeah...
Then way Xenoblade 1 ended does open the game to a sequel.
I'd just be super surprised if it's not associated with Xenoblade at all.
That single trailer completely sold me on the wii-u. I loved monolith soft's work from Xenogears up to Xenoblade. That trailer screams Xenogears. If you have played Xenogears, that game allowed you to take down giant monsters just as a human, no gear (mech). It was of course a lot harder, but that detail was what made the game amazing.
I really do home that Xenoblade 2 has mech customization along the lines of Xenogears or even go as far as Armored core.
I rented out the ps3 version of this game and based on just the single player, this game is about a 6.5~7.5/10 game. Nothing about the single player blew me away and just felt weak compared to Bayonetta and Vanquish. This game is a fighting/brawler game which means it becomes more fun with other people. Since it was only a rental, I only had the game for a few nights. Those few nights it was extremely hard for me to find anyone to play with, particularly the team modes. Hardly anyone was doin...
EXACTLY! Well said!
I really hate to say this, but I sometimes hate having the title of a gamer simply because of the negative stigma that hangs on it these days. I think that's why nintendo had that whole "I'm not a gamer" campaign, because they probably saw how negative that title has become because of those fouled mouthed, sexist, and racist few that ruins it for the whole community.
Gamers are a very passionate bunch of people, but that ...
Either the writer hasn't played PSABR or Mortal Kombat...or doesn't consider them good fighters. Most of the games on his list are very fast and technical. Mortal Kombat and PSABR are both slow when compared to something like Guilty gear or Blazblue. Technicality can be argued about for eons, so I won't get into that.
The ps3 isn't killing the vita, it's the mobile platforms out there. Why get a vita when you can get your kids a cheap tablet? Back in the day, the only way to play games on the go was with a gaming handheld. Today, out phones and tablets can do that and more, all in 1 device. Yeah, the psv and 3ds have much better games than the tablets, but casuals don't care about quality, just a cheap thrill to make waiting in line feel a bit faster.
Sony would never do this,...
I'd guess that it's either Fatal Frame, Eternal Darkness, or Resident evil: Revelations.
I agree. Xenoblade was just amazing. Too bad it's on a system that no one takes seriously. This game got beat out by that half-assed mario wii-u game on the VGAs! This is a game people really need to play. It might probably end up like Xenogears though...a great game not a lot of people played.
Hopefully Nintendo and monolith soft doesn't see this as a blunder and continue trying to put out amazing RPGs like this.
Yeah most likely. There are people I know that are like that. I recommended Xenogears to someone and they couldn't play it because it was ps1 game. They loved the crap out of Xenosaga, but wouldn't give Xenogears a chance because it was a ps1 game...
And this is the reason why HD remakes are relevant. So these types of people can play a game without really complaining about how out-dated it looks.
"Top 5 PS2 RPGs I wish I'd played"
Why not go out, find the games, and play them?
The Ps2 isn't that old nor are the games uber rare or anything on that list. I'm currently working my way backwards on the Ps3 catalog of games. Playing old games you missed out on due to financial or other reasons isn't anything to be ashamed of.
If this person really regrets not playing those games, he'd go out and actively try to find a...
A big surprise from capcom? Let's see...
1) A new Capcom Vs. game: This new vs game will be just as crazy as MVC, but have different gimmicks. It could even be a capcom smash bros type game. Anyway, one of the main reveal character will be megaman.
2) Continuing development on MML3.
3) NO MORE DISC LOCKED CONTENT: This would be a huge surprise, but this will never happen.
4) Another HD compilation of either Onimusha, Powe...
Finally they make a REAL full 3d pokemon game. When I say real, I mean not a stupid spin-off game. They finally made a full 3d pokemon game.
My only complaint right now is...WHY DIDN'T THIS EXIST WHEN I WAS A KID?! I've been waiting for something like this since the N64! What is that? Like 14 years?
Xenogears is my favorite PS1 RPG game of all time. I used to like FF7 a lot, until I played through Xenogears. Aerith dying in FF7 was sad, but Xenogears brought up more topics that poked at religion and questioned existence. Xenogears wasn't just you vs a bad guy. It was you vs existence. There are a lot of details in Xenogears than FF7, IMO, which made me like it.
Xenogears really opened my mind in story telling for a ps1 game. It's an amazing game that not a lot o...
It's been how many years since Pokemon stadium teased Poke-fans with a full 3d pokemon game? TOO MANY! I really don't care at this point whether it's on the 3ds or wii-u or freaking PC. I want a full 3d pokemon game! Enough with cheap sprites and bleeps for pokemon sounds. Make the pokemon say their names! Upgrade your visuals! If Nintendo is content with keeping the game 2d/sprite based, it BETTER LOOK AS GOOD AS SUPER ROBOT WARS OR BLAZBLUE.
That reboot version of Crash looks really ugly. It's as if they implanted Crash with Pop-eye's arms. A character like Crash does not need a physical make over to be edgy and unique. He's already like that!
This isn't as ugly as the new Spyro design. Spyro was beaten hard with the ugly stick.
I sort of have the same problem. I love Japanese games, from Katamari and DOA to Valkyria Chronicles. I love the fantastical and colorful worlds Japanese games create. Hardware used to force developers to be visually different and creative to get their game noticed, even if it was just final fight with a new coat of paint and a single new gimmick.
These days, it's hard to find those colorful and fantastical games on the big consoles. There's still a slew of games I st...
That's the thing, if he did state his opinion, the article might have gotten flamed hard by trolls. If he just said "In my opinion, this game was dull and boring" people would call him a COD fan and point him over to the explosions. In order to expand on why he thinks the game is dull, he tries and explains the facts.
I got hit hard on these forums mainly because I had a negative opinion about the Sony-smash clone. I thought it was a boring/lack-luster on all fr...
I really wish this game was also on the ps3. I really liked PSU for allowing ps2 and PC connectivity.
