They are right, GT5:P was terrible for all the reasons they state.
The only other one i've played is MarioKart and i really enjoyed that.
I also hate rockband/guitar hero, coz like them i think people should just learn the real instrument.

Are those the shields or the new exectution moves?

the list goes on but ffs, just admit that this is going to be one awesome game. The first is still in the top5 most played games on XBL, even 18 months after release. I dont think any PS3 game i've owned has longevity like that.
it looks awesome, i cant wait for this. Gears is my favourite new series of games this gen and this will only improve on the first. The flamethrower looks a bit overpowered but they should sort that out. Loving the destructable environments and the exectution moves you see.
for me Gears is all about the gameplay. I dont care if it 'looks' better than killzone or any ohr game. Its more fun oplay than any FPS ive played. Its all about the gamplay!!!

more players is not always the answer, look at Fronlines. 60 player = flop. Gears has 4v4 and its one of the best selling, most popular games. COD4 is maxed at 18 players. The number of players should work well for the game and the maps, that's all. I dont want 60 player if its not done right.
im not sure, i dont know em all. I did hear that 2.4 just adds music support and messaging, which really dissappointed me. I wanted chat coz no one on PSN talk during games and i like going into private chat on XBL when im in a game of COD4 with my mate. I also use it a bit like a phone and chat with a mate while playing different games. I dont think you'll be able to do this on a PS3.

Well even after 2.4 drops on the PS3 it will still be better. But not worth £40 a year. They should reward loyalty with a £5 reduction in cost each year. Then levels it out at £15 a year for people who've had it for 5 years.
BTW, Firmware 2.4 is not going to offer the exact same features as XBL, its missing a lot. All it adds is a console music option (to play your music in game) and a messaging bit, so you can read messages in game.

Sorry to dissappoint the legions of Sony fanboys here but i agree. GTA4 is miles better than MGS4, simply because i can pass the pad to a mate, my brother or even my GF and they could all have a little bit of fun causing mischeif. This can not be said for MGS4 where you have to watch the extensive cut scenes to really appreciate it and have fun with it.

Nice article, interesting to know. basically Nintendo was king until the PS1 and PS2. Then they are back to the top. tekken 1 2 and 3 looked vastly different on the PSone. But then i think Gears2 looks miles better than the frist. Watch the trailer in HD on the marketplace and you can see it looks noticably better. All i keep seeing is tiny blurry screenshots comparting it to things, which you cant tell anything from.
