I believe it works just not for long. I for a fact tried to play MW2 when I first got it and it said I had to update to 1.04(not sure about the number but made me update before I could play.) Had just moved to a new apartment and didn't have internet yet, had to go to the parents house and update before it would even let me play it.
Even then you can't play new games. They have the latest firmware as a prerequisite to play them, most of the time it's on the disc. To those who say, ya you can just not install the firmware.. They constantly work on the OS to lessen the footprint on the RAM. To have enough RAM you might need the latest firmware.
I'm a hardcore PS fan but this and MS's version will be failures. We didn't buy Wii's for a reason.. We like to have controllers in our hands. Sure I'll take a hit for that statement but it is how I feel about this 'motion' control crap.
Have to disagree, like Assassins Creed this is a game that doesn't need multiplayer. They should focus on the single player and not tack on an online mode. Granted I could be proven wrong but my money is on it being a good single player with a bad online game.
I got sold on DA:O when I saw it was developed by the guys who made Baulders Gate. It's nothing like BG, like you said, more a platform to milk DLC from.

I'll wait and see on this. I got DA:O 1 on launch day and it was a good game. However it had DLC on the disc, ya they gave you 2 of the 3 free but still. I refuse to buy any game with launch day DLC. I just shelled out $60 and get home to find out if I want the whole game it's another $15.. no thanks
I gave my copy of HS to a friend who moved half way around the country. What I should call him and say ship that game back lol.. but for real if some dlc or trophy support came out for it I'd gladly go buy a new copy of the game. Short yes but it was a classic.
In no way do I mean any offense to you. But it's starting to get to the point that devs feel they have to tack on an online to sell games. I see the trend and can't blame them but some games just don't need it.. This is one I feel doesn't.

Ugh, WTF are they thinking making it multiplayer. Not everything has to be online.. I'll take a great single player game over a great multiplayer game any day.
Edit: beat me to it Assclown20 lol. But for real I'd rather have a great single player then an average single player with a bad online mode tacked on.
Does anyone even care about these stupid gimmicks. I have a good reason for not owning a Wii, I'm a gamer. Give me a controller over some 'wand' anytime and twice on Sunday.
I bought the God of War collection, never played them before. Plated the 1st one and close on 2. Can honestly say those PS2 games are better then 90% or more then the stuff we get today. Can't wait for 3 now.

So they could sell millions of copies for the 09 xmas season. I'm sure I'm in the minority but I like single player better. World at War at least gave me my monies worth out of the single player, although I lost quite a bit of hair in the process.
I'd give Resistance 2 a honorable mention. That 10k kills online trophy is an insane amount of grinding. I got up to about 1k and just gave up on it, would take way too much time for a multiplayer that IMO wasn't all that good. Please take note, IMO, that is just my opinion.
Let's see if it's another $75 game. Maybe they can get it up to $90 this time.
Could care less about who, what, when and where. Fact is the game wasn't that good and such a long time ago, IMO who cares? Why even bother making the DLC for PS3?
