I'm kind of jealous of you. I love the MP in all of the games you mentioned. If wasn't so addicted to them, I would have a lot more free time to enjoy other great games. However the memories and friendships I've made playing online... I wouldn't trade it for any amount of single player content.

I would beg to differ that Sony needs to get with the times and allow players to replace batteries on the fly. The X1 was designed to be 'on' for days to weeks straight without any potential damage to the CPU or GPU. No I am not talking about on as in sleep mode, I am talking on, watching movies, playing games, etc.. I know, me too. I don't see many people mention that about benefits of the Kinect, but it's a really cool feature.

I use it constantly to navigate my console and get thing done in a instant hands free manner. The IR blaster is a great tool, and works great with my TV and cable box. Also, Xbox fitness is great and really impressive in the way it tracks your heartbeat and knows what muscles are being used.
With all that being said, Kinect 2.0 could have been a high quality microphone with an IR blaster, and I may have been received a lot better by the mass...

Kinects impact on gaming is very little. Its true potential really shine when using it to navigate the console itself. All of the voice commands and use of the IR blaster really make it a must have device for me. I don't really care if it works well with games like Halo or COD, that's not what it was invented for.

You are basing your logic off of the past and present, not off of the unknown future. Just because the X1 has little foothold in the market today. Future titles are more than likely going to boost sales of the console rather drastically. I know many who claim they are waiting to purchase an X1 for the Halo and Gears.
I don't think Microsoft will catch up with Sony. But I do think they will close some MAJOR ground. Sony had a tremendous first years. Even if Microsoft has a year comparable to Sony's first, Sony would have to be at a standstill for Microsoft to "pass" them, and we know that isn't going to happen.
At the end of the day, I don't really care. I own both consoles and both have games I'm really looking forwards to. Win win for me regardless.
I have a friend who has some kind of VR headset, its not oculus, but some other version that hooks up with HDMI.
Well anyway, he played PT with this headset and broke the headset strap and his glasses ripping it off his head. He's not a guy who gets startled easily, there's just something about these VR sets now that trick your brain into thinking its real.

The ONLY reason the X1 is that size, is too allow for huge amounts of air circulation. Open one up, and there's practically nothing in it, just an enormous fan and empty space.

I play most of my games on my Xbox one over my PS4 for only one reason, I have way more friends on XBL than PSN. Gaming has evolved, its no longer just about sitting by yourself playing a single player game, it has become such a HUGE social experience. I love Nintendo games, and I always get the single player games, had a blast with Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, but If Nintendo wants to remain competitive they need to at least provide a comparable experience service wise.
