FF games always evolved with the mechanics & battle system which one could clearly see with 12 to 13 & then to 15. With the hardware out now & FF games having a grander scale of graphics & production Square is not going back to a slow turn base battle system. This is why Square releases smaller budget turn base games instead, for folks that want that turn base fix. FF 16 looks amazing.

Stick to slashing him relentlessly block & deflect at the same time in case you don't pull off the deflect but you minimize the damage from blocking. Do the same in second form but you may have to dodge some of his ranged attacks. You may want to raise your spirit meter to 25 before you fight the boss so you can minimize incoming damage from his attacks including maximizing your damage attacks to the boss.
JRPG. Plain & simple.
That's what a "real" first party studio is. A company buying a publisher that owns studios including making multiplat games for years is all of a sudden a first party studio is a facade...lol.
