I feel the same way. The bright side is that the "mag" only holds two shots. I'm guessing 343i is designing it relative to the regular human sniper, which is technically half as powerful; therefore, the total ammo capacity for the Binary should be cut in half to compensate, that being 10 extra rounds as opposed to the human sniper's 20 extra rounds.
So yeah.

Halo isn't trying to be like Call of Duty. It's trying to catch up with EVERY OTHER FPS out there. Halo was getting stale and needed an overhaul.
It pisses me off how it appears to uneducated eyes that when Halo adds something new and fresh, "ZOMG GUISE IT'S TRIEIEIING TO B LIEK COD LOL." Call of Duty isn't the first game to introduce perks or weapon skins. Battlefield 3 has them and yet no one bothers comparing those, even though they're much mo...
If they make a Mass Effect 4, they could make it more open-ended than the other games. "Choose your own adventure", pardon the cliché. No need for multiplayer, yet has plenty of replay value (the development time/lines of dialogue would be enormous, though).

You're correct on the rest, however. Personally, I think the changes are great. 343i is doing a great job adding depth and strategic mechanics to the gametypes.
In response to your most recent reply: I can agree on that. I would've happily done without ME3's multiplayer in exchange for the original (better) ending. Referring to this article, EA made a blatant lie. EA wants everyone's money, so they force developers to tack on/change otherwise great games in order to get the most money out of it. I think ME3 multiplayer is quite enjoyable, actually. I still play it with friends every day or every other day. After beating the single-player story somewhere near 6 times now, it's nice to have something to come back to and play.
