yeah, I hear Cthulhu did better in a short time on Steam than all the time it was on XBLIG.
perhaps, but then what developer wants to be pidgeon holed like that?
no chance I'm afraid, it's a Nintendo game. 3DS and Wii U are your only hope.
Those are some surprising top 5 additions. I gotta admit though the things you say make Rage fresh makes it sound like they're just taking the RPG out of Fallout and making it a regular shooter.
I think Gearbox should just leave Duke Nukem alone honestly...
are prices fixed though? I know NISA comes out with small budget RPGs on the PS3 every once in a while for less than 60 bucks. Is there anything requiring these companies to go with 60? I think most just don't because the second you decrease the price of your game it lends to a stigma that the game isn't as good if the developers themselves don't even think it's worth a regular game's price.
Love the idea of all the objects talking to you, especially the armor apologizing after a battle. That could be pretty hysterical.
yeah he gets a lot of crap from people for being wrong, but he seems like a genuinely nice guy who's happy to admit when he made the wrong call.
While I get what you mean, I can see why some don't like it just from a moral aspect. It's similar to if Police couldn't enforce gun control so they started selling automatic weapons themselves. Sure maybe Blizzard could never get rid of something like this, but if you think the idea is morally objectionable then you would still prefer Blizzard not get into it themselves.
watched a video of the extra level, looks way too crazy for me. could be fun for the completionists out there though.
Looked really cool at E3, was so dissapointed I didn't get time to sit down with it. Glad to hear it met expectations.
I wonder how the success rate of gaming related boycotts compares to boycotts in other industries. I don't honestly recall any boycott that I think of as a rousing success.
Having the puzzles be all inclusive so that you don't have to run around a level searching for little knick knacks is nice, sad the "combat" took away from the game as a whole.
Mr. Saturn song from Earthbound gets my vote. Love that tune, so upbeat and weird.
guess I shouldn't have expected a reasonable discussion from someone who started out the discussion calling me an idiot. Oh well, was a fun argument anyway. Just have to agree to disagree.
-ABOUT DECISIONS
nothing to add here.
-ABOUT GAME MECANICS
I never said I wanted to work on 3 heroines at once, I was actually just trying to work on one but I would talk to a completely different girl and it would affect the girl I was trying to woo in an unexpected and seemingly arbitrary way. I don't think that having to consult an FAQ just to know how each decision may or may not affect the girl you are working on is a good design.
-ABOUT GRINDING
Well since I was able to build up affection with more than just those three I don't think it's a huge logic leap to think that you could choose from more than just those three when it came to the final mate decision.
Dialogue choices can affect multiple relationships but usually you can get an idea of who's going to be affected how, most times it seemed fairly random in this game.
If the game doesn't explain in its mechanics and I have to go...
Why would I care how good recent wrpgs are? Not really my genre. Doesn't really seem relevant to how good or not Agarest War is.
I think that's a copout argument to be honest, how many JRPGs do I have to play before I can call one bad or just meh without people questioning my understanding of the genre? Some JRPGs just aren't all that great. It's not like I've never enjoyed a JRPG or given them high scores. Persona 4 and Valkyria Chronicles both got above a nine, and they're both far far better than this game and the score should show that.
If you haven't played the first game you'll only not get the nostalgia effect of a few characters that make a return, but it is not necessary to understand the story whatsoever.
