I thought the demo was fun, but the gameplay must get much better later on because while this was a fun game I just don't see how it revolutionizes WRPG combat like some reviews seem to claim.
One nice part about Carpe Fulgur stuff is it's usually fairly old from Japan so just about any computer could handle it.
Sad that they seemed to have put so much effort into the presentation of a game that has some basic issues from the ground up when it comes to design.
Always nice to see smaller games like this make it to the States. Unfortunate that it seems the gameplay didn't stack up to the creepy atmosphere.
It's sad to think how all kinds of shows like this could be affected by SOPA. As a huge fan of AMVs it would kill one of my favorite viewing hobbies.
still not totally sure about the idea of varied prices like that. I suppose it already exists since games like Disgaea and Atelier Totori are 50 bucks new when Uncharted 3 costs 60, but still not sure.
This just looked terrible at E3, glad to hear it wasn't that bad.
I agree with this more so than most of the 10's I'm seeing out there. Feels like some reviewers are taking advantage of the fact they already know it's a phenomenon so the scoring is easy.
Nice to see that the 3D is being used for gameplay in a few games on the 3DS
actually starting playing Skyrim just recently, I was going to try and play Rune Factory to review it but my roommates were both playing Skyrim and I just couldn't help but get pulled into it.
Sad this didn't end up as well as the monster themed DLC for Red Deead Redemption, I had high hopes, but I guess it sounds pretty good except for the presentation issues.
copying the formula of Layton games isn't a bad idea, maybe they'll have better luck on a sequel if they get the chance.
isn't this game on every platform ever now? Glad to hear they're at least spreading around a fantastic game.
like Borderlands without the leveling bit, sounds fun.
I think a big reason that a lot of those games you mention are shorter is because of the cost of development particularly on the side of visuals, and I doubt going to digital will change that much. Sure there are some times where the physical media is what holds the developers back from including some content, but I think much more often it's just the cost of it that makes a 15 hour game 15 hours
It's interesting how the balance between difficulty and enjoyment can be so hard to get just right. Some games like Demon's Souls seem to be able to still remain fun for the bulk of the people who play it while a game like this gets much more mixed reviews.
Interesting story about that HIV enzyme. Wonder how large it is, because if all they did was give gamers a one or two thousand sequence of amino acids and ask "oh hey you guys try to figure out how this folds" that doesn't seem reasonable. Perhaps we already partially new how it folded but couldn't exactly figure it out.
I've always loved the Warhammer 40k universe from reading all the books, I should give this game a try. Enjoyed the RTS's but like the writer says you don't get as much of a feel for the backstory from that type of game.
Glad to hear it was a good game, even if it ended up being rather short.
I really want them to put up some more car skins for the custom paint jobs. Course if they cost too much (basically anything above zero) it won't make a difference.
