I can hardly turn my PS3 on anymore. I will get out of this funk but man PS4 has me hooked.

I love the look of the new UI, I don't think it's a "big mess" it is better looking than XMB but I highly doubt it's anywhere near as convienient as XMB.

another way the touchpad could be implemented is in more simple $15 indie games on PSN.
a lot of people don't play video games because of being discouraged by the difficult controls. cut the middleman and you open yourself up to a broader market.
you could technically play flower. with only the touchpad. I see games being played with exclusive use of the touchpad.
in Battlefield 4 it will probably be used for spotting, since the select button has now vanished.

I can definitely see myself using it more than the d-pad for turn-based RPGs like Final Fantasy where you sift through millions of menus. I'd only use the anaolgue sticks to move around
I hear many conflicting things about the PS4's CPU on a daily basis, and people take it how they want depending on their affiliation to a particular brand hardware gaming hardware.
what I will do is purchase my very own PS4 when in launches in 2014 here in Europe with Watchdogs and inFamous: Second Son and judge for myself.

at the very least, 60fps should be the standard for games which follow very explicit corridors/linear paths, platformers, non-chaotic racing games, 2D/3D arcade fighters, etc.
games that don't tax the PS4 too much with the amount of variables all happening on screen at one time.
I don't expect Battlefield 4 to be 60fps with better textures, AA, lighting, 1080p and to top it all off 32 vs. 32 combat. in fact I wouldn't be surprised if they limited conquest ...
I just hope we get a AAA exclusive RPG from Sony. a contingency plan for us gamers in case Final Fantasy continues to not live up to its standards next generation.
