Don't forget about 2004.

I fell in love with FFXI and SOCOM around that time, many great games around 2003, EA Sports were at the top of their game as well. It's hard to compete with the PS1/N64 era though, when 3D gaming was introduced.
Couldn't agree more MilkMan. Well said.
It is a shame that SE was taken to the whipping post for FFXII in 2006 by the fans, now 7 years later the game gets praise from anyone lucky to play it.
FFXI was a brilliant game that many consider the best MMORPG of all time, yet many fans threw it under the bus too because it wasn't Final Fantasy of the old days.
Any time SE and Final Fantasy get brought up the fans always beg and cry for VII or X, or anything in between, and SE tried to give the fans ...
I bought my PS3 the day Confrontation came out. Even though it wasn't what I was used to I still played it and loved it.
I liked the idea of 256 players in a match with MAG but I always envisioned that being the future of SOCOM, but it never happened.
I don't know if SOCOM can survive in this generation with CoD running the show. Here's a video that will explain why in my opinion:

I was just playing Combined Assault a couple weeks ago, the one SOCOM single player campaign I never finished.
Those 4 games are some of the main reasons my PS2 doesn't get dusty, FFXII too :)
I haven't taken console shooters seriously since SOCOM died. Here's to hoping tactical shooters come back in style.
Now we just need a SEN mobile app, like what Steam has.
Most of the time people put others down because of insecurities.
I thought the servers for MOHW were taken down already.
I miss the old Crytek.
Unveiling at E3 = probable
Not worried about PS4 = doubtful
Microsoft could release the big Atari joystick and people would buy it up, and think they invented it. :)
They should be announcing Assassins's Creed V in a few months.
I stopped buying EA products at MSRP in 2005. No complaints here.
Microsoft has to keep charging for XBL. It is their number one source of income for the 360. That alone makes my decision to get the PS4 an easy one.
In normal households the PC has been relegated to a expensive gaming machine. When Valve releases their gaming console it will be the first time in 30 years that a PC isn't needed for anything in a normal household. Sure, tasks are still much easier to do on a PC, but for the first time in history PC's aren't needed.
Actions speak louder than words. I would pay more attention to what companies like Microsoft do, not what they say. If the end of the world was upon us, do yo...
If a game has them I will wait until I can get them in one download or one disc, usually a year later. I would have bought Simcity day 1, now I may never buy it. Just doesn't interest me.
I love PC gaming but it seems that desktop PC's in the household are really only good for gaming anymore (with the exception of a few people).
With smartphones and tablets taking over the everyday tasks that PC's and laptops did a few years ago it is only a matter of time that the demand for PC's will start to decline.
PC gaming is here to stay, but desktop PC's will soon be a thing of the past with laptops following shortly behind. This is so...
NBA 2k12 looks almost as good on PS3 as it does with max settings on PC, except for the resolution obviously. I was impressed when I played it at a buddies house on his PS3.
