"That is not saying much Gabe. "
You idiot.. without Valve the FPS genre would be nothing like it is today. Half Life paved the way for FPS storytelling. Half Life 2 won 40+ GOTY awards. That's GAME of the YEAR. 40. +. Valve made some of the biggest changes in the industry with Steam and digital distribution. Without Valve and Steam FPS games would still be in the dark ages.
This sounds like a cool idea! Good way to get the kids into gaming, but without all the ultra-violence and with cutesy LEGO dudes.
I love LEGO. I have probably spent well over $1000 on LEGO in my lifetime. Still collecting now as a matter of fact, but only sometimes do I actually keep the stock sets. Most of the time I break them and build my own stuff.
I haven't played a Civ game since Civ III on Mac OS Cheetah (or was it Puma..)
I think the most important factor is making the game fun. If you have awesome graphics but an unplayable mess with UI and such then the game won't be as good.Fun-factor is what will have gamers coming back time after time.
Yeah this is supposed to be singleplayer only. I think it's a good thing that it is as the devs put more effort into the SP instead of doing a halfassed job at making SP and MP. They put more resources in making the SP better and drawing the player in with story and all that good stuff.
"You basically get rid of the enemies by moving to the next checkpoint. Shooting feels redundant."
I only played the singleplayer in CoD4 up to the point where you use night vision and you're in this open field or something near a shack and I sat there trying to kill everyone. But basically what you're saying is that if I just sprinted to the next checkpoint I would've been clear? WTF?!
Seriously, PC games have had HD what, like 7 years ago? PC games have been running at 60+ frames for a while now, and console gamers get excited when their game can run 30FPS.
And what, console gaming is for people who don't like to optimize their games, play in anything over 1080p, use a less accurate input method (controllers), play with little to no AA, pay more money for games, have only 1 display at a time, pay for DLC, get infrequent game updates, and use outdated and old hardware?
"no console xbox or ps3 can do that"
Of course not! Console gamers get excited when a console game can run 30FPS and 720p. I've been gaming post-HD 60+FPS since CRT days.
PC for me too. The way it's meant to be played.
@ raf1k1
There already is. Cracked and rendered it useless in less than a day.

@ anon
Your post is pointless.
Anybody can come up with a list of games. It still doesn't mean anything.
AMD quad cores are very affordable. Running AMD Phenom X4 myself and got it for under $200.
@ MajesticBeast
There has to be!! Read Rule34 of the internet.
I'm sure if you go digging in the various Chan boards you'll find something.
Personally, I don't think "fine" is good enough.
That's why I game PC.
Seriously, this is a PC article.
But those screens aren't even at a decent res. I need at least 1920x1080 for screenshots to be of ANY use and interest to me. Unless they downscaled them ..
That has got to be....
The most awesome necklace I have ever seen!!
Wow, pretty impressive draw distances even on low.
Pretty good for a crap machine. Now I want to see screens of true max (atleast 1920x1200, max details, max AA, max AF) vs that "HBAO" setting for ultra low.
@ letros
I heard it's better to turn off HBAO for better performance frame-wise. I was running 1920x1200 2xAA with all settings max and with HBAO off I got around 85fps vs HBAO on where I got no more than 60fps. (GTX260, Phenom X4 @ 3.2Ghz...
That time already? Wow how time flies.
Gonna celebrate by playing some Okami and SSX3 :)
How is that a fail? PC has been doing that since 2003. And consoles have DL only games as well.
@ Panda
I agree about the cover system. I don't want chest-high walls popping up wherever I go(*ahem* Gears of War).
