I dont think people have a problem with online only games. people have a problem with the price of online only game when they have bought previous instalments with a fully fledged story for the same price if not less.
I only jumped on rainbow 6 siege when it dropped to £25 and i am really enjoying it. but i wasn't going to pay £45 at launch when i had just bought mgsv for £35 at launch.
VR for driveclub was not confirmed. they said they made it as a test but had no plans on actually supporting it.
Costs them less to MANUFACTURE,
But what about the amount of money they have spent on R&D for VR, a never before done piece of tech that they needed to design from the ground up with no previous knowledge.
As oppose to the ps4 where its at heart a basic computer, and they have had 3 previous iterations to get knowledge from.
Doesn't matter if its October or October 2020, they still have X amount they can make in time to ship for release. and all of those have been pre ordered. so pre orders after that will be shipped after launch when retailers get the next batches.
Give me a first person witcher style RPG in VR with the same amount of hours and i'm happy. Imagine.
I think its more to do with people not liking the "indie" genre being so diverse and open. if i say to you its an FPS or a arcade fighter game you know what i mean straight away. If i say its an indie game it could be anything from the witness to sports with friends to ori. some people like to have a specific label so they can understand it with one word.
I'm going to take a wild guess and say you have played neither The witness or Firewatch, but you know that they should be scrapped. Cool story bro.

Halo was a let down and is well past its sell by date.
Forza isn't my choice of racing game, i also own a ps4 and choose racers on there instead.
Rise of the tomb raider was great, but again i knew what was coming.
what i meant was i'm excited to see xbox finally get some NEW console exclusives instead of just forza/halo/gears. they have a lot of talented teams and people and never pushed them to make new things. instead churned out ...
Probably not that many and they made the decision to take the chance and make a name for their game and its definitely paid off.
If they every make a RL 2 they wont need to make it a free monthly title. and to be fair they have probably maid their money back from DLC packs. I know i paid for some as i got it free and i wanted to support the devs as i have played it so much.
I bought my xbox one for exclusives and apart from the odd game like ORI, its been collecting dust. finally looking forward to getting to play something big on the console.
This is the first bit of info i have paid any attention to about the new hitman. And that's all it will be. Another franchise ruined by greed, thats how i see it anyway.
If its not greed by putting the price up its greed in terms of doing less work but bulking it out with filler content or "episodes".

Looking at this years line up, there are a lot of fantastic games coming but i can't see my self enjoying anything else more than im enjoying the witness. its up there with the masterpieces for me.
