It takes more than just simple delays & communications, Phantasy Star doesn't have the strong popularity & sales power as the Final Fantasy series, & Japan is where Phantasy Star does better in terms of sales, because it does poorly in the West. If that was the case, Nintendo would have made the Wii as an HD console which they didn't, most of the profits Nintendo made last generation came from the Gameboy Advance, they barely made money with the GC. The GT IP is owned by Sony, so it's pretty obvious they publish it. The PS1 did very well for being Sony's first console, you can't simply pretend they didn't make brilliant business decisions that made both PS1/PS2 two of the most successful consoles on the market & first 2 consoles to sell 100m & more, Nintendo now achieved that with the Wii,their 5th console.
