This is at the top of my list this year. Flower was fantastic and this looks to be even more unique.
More and more does it look like indies and smaller studios like thatgamecompany are where the true innovation is at.
Mansell is amazing, but I would still much prefer Wall and Hulick on 3 too. Lately Bioware's choices have been rather poor in places.
Ah, sensationalism.
Ditto. I had a blast with this. Will totally double dip on this. Pure unadulterated fun.
He's actually an excellent and respected writer/director.
It's rather a case of fit. He's simply not the best man for this sort of project. Doesn't mean he's a crap director.
Some Sony guy says "we have lots of cool stuff!" This is a hint? This sheds some light on what's to come?
Insulting.
Humbleopinion:
My argument is that, while these sorts of comparisons serve to clarify technical specs etc., they are not so clearly unbiased fact-giving exercises.
That is, DF comparisons (and especially others like LoT) almost always suggest a "winner" based on an INTERPRETATION of the data. Eurogamer and NeoGaf forums have been discussing this for a few years--that the interpretation of the data is not always consistent.
So, agai...
Why oh why is there not hours of special features on the game disk with behind the scenes looks at the actors?
You support the meaninglessness of the console war, then? Because this is what these comparisons are really about.
This, I would argue, is the true source of negativity, and not those of us who are critical of it.
I enjoy the science of game development, but not when it comes across as a cage match.
Wow, Sess got a bit defensive there about LA Noire and didn't like what Nicole had to say.
#2354343-343 submission about PSN
I'm glad there's so many amazing websites to keep us informed minute-by-minute of these things.
What will these websites do when PSN is back up? Oh, right, the console war.
On environments, Heavy Rain was better and more atmospheric I feel. The city in LA Noire feels a bit lifeless.
But the characters are amazing.
Somebody actually argued that?
I too am worried about all this. I see people defending Bioware, but it's plain and clear to me -- ME2 was a major step down from the wonderful RPG that was ME1. ME2 was, yes, a more polished game, but it was still a hollow experience for me. ME1 had charm from it's RPG roots.
I fear what ME3 will turn out to be.
Ditto. ME2's story was "too busy" -- too many characters pulling things in different directions. It made things unfocused.
Though I couldn't care less for Kinect, this is a win for the gaming industry in general.
I'll be playing this, but only with Move. I still have zero interest in Kinect, sorry MS.
I'll miss Jack Wall (love "Vigil" from ME1), but damn, Clint is an amazing replacement!
I always figured it was to emphasize the action/shooter qualities of the game and sell more copies.
This "streamlining" (or dumbing down as some say) in fact removes a significant part of the experience for me (such as the great trip from Noveria station to Peak 15!). Oh well.
I can't disagree. I will think twice about getting Skyrim considering that Fallout 3 was simply the most broken console game I've played this gen.
I remain cautiously optimistic however.
